Hi, im having problems with this fix.

the first part in settting up emulator and getting android ID from it goes fine.
However in the command prompt i can't it to recognise my Scroll. I've tried hooking it up with both usb and wifi to no avail.
i do the adb command for IP adress (using IP address i get from my wifi settings) and then adb list devices, but it just say list of devices attached and nothing else. Then when i do the long 'meta value' command it says "error:device not found".

I havent rooted my scroll and wonder if this has anything to do with problem.

It has 1.2 firmware. Though had same problem with 1.1 previously.

Hope someone can help.

Thanks

right at the end after loading the new id
ran command
c:\Android\android-sdk-windows\platform-tools>adb shell sqlite3 /data/data/com.g
oogle.android.googleapps/databases/accounts.db "select * from meta";
* daemon not running. starting it now on port 5037 *
* daemon started successfully *
SQL error: no such table: meta

Hiy guys
followed the tutorial, fairly easy going, got right to the end and inserted the value onto my scroll

then when i run the command, as above like hatchman, i get the exact same error message, any ideas? I am running 1.02.

If the new id is now on the scroll - just reboot the scroll and your are done. If there is still market issues use the market update zip. like Detection needed to.

keep the emulator running for a bit, it took mine 5-10 mins to boot before the emulator was running for the 1st time

Could I somehow use Android running on my netbook to do this hack?

be patient when force close widows pop up on the emulator press wait to all of these and when you make the VM try changing the memory value to 96 as suggested in earlier thread

I suppose if you have logged in and the market works on the laptop, you might be able to take the ID manually - but you would need Root Explorer and Root Access on the laptops Android OS to get to the file you need.

/data/data/com.google.android.googleapps/databases/accounts.db
(Meta)

Thats where you need to look to get the new ID

So, can I copy the Android ID from my Milestone 2 and chuck it on my Scroll? The problem part for me, is that there is no market app, it's not in the very limited apps screen. There's an app installer thing, but when I hit add, it does nothing. Does this app install apk's I download?

Oh and hello BTW :-)

@LameDuck if you have a copy of Launcher Pro there's a Market Launcher provided with it. If you haven't got that then I'm sure it would be ok for me to email it to you.
