Testing Medion Lifetab E7316 7" android Tablet

I did something this Sunday morning that I have never done before, and that was to get up early to stand in a queue to be among the first to get hold of an android tablet from my local Aldi store



This is the specification:

For £79.99 it seems to be pitched at about the right price.
This is not a blazingly fast tablet but it is well specified form the money.
The CPU is an ARM (Cortex A9) quad core rated @ 1.6 Ghz
The screen is 5 point multitouch
The back is metal, sealed battery claiming 4 hour user time before charging required.
Screen is 160 dpi which is acceptible but won't break any records
It is not rooted out of the box but I'm not really bothered as it does what I want much faster than my original Excel

Nothing special but I am quite pleased at the Antutu overall score of 19434.
If I find anything else noteworthy about it I will report back.

I treated myself to the 1st gen Nexus 7 for Christmas as I managed to find a new one for £120 - Loving it so far and the 4.4 update, I can't put it down, but I need to just put it away for xmas day.

I@Charlie, Christine bought this for me but she has given up trying to get it back to wrap it.
I have put Xbmc on it and now have access to all my movies. This is well fast enough for the Job until I get bored and see something else at a bargain price. They only had 10 of these Medion Life tabs at the store and I got the second one. There were a lot of dissapointed shoppers. Have a great Christmas Charlie.

So, you've got XBMC on there TC? How does it run on that device?
I've just got my wife a Galaxy Tab 3 for Xmas... everyone seems to be asking for tablets!

Bet your wife will be pleased with her present as usually All Samsung stuff is good spec and quality build.
Yes, I have put XBMC on the Medion tablet and can access my NAS files, particularly films.
I am very pleased with my Lifetab E7316 as it is value for money and better than I hoped for at £80.00
This little beast just flies on XBMC, screen updates are virtually instantaneous when browsing my Movie library with backdrop screens and synopsis and file details (i.e. 720p Dolby etc) all appearing just as fast as I can search.
I am very impressed and quite happy that now I have access to a lot of movies where-ever I want to watch them - even in the garden.

I have extended my review on the Medion Lifetab on another forum I have joined where I get very cheap mobile service for Internet (unlimited with no fair use policy) 250 mins of call time and unlimited texts for £12.00 a month. Also they offer payback as there is no customer service, the members are the help desk. I just got £109.00 credited to my paypal account and I have only spent £36.00 in using the service for the last 3 months so very pleased with it.
