I think that it is important that early adopters don't feel that oops they have made the wrong choice.

Yes its good that hardware vendors leapfrog each other in giving value for money but in the end its quality of supplied software that really matters.

I like my Scroll. An 8" tablet I would find a little big.

It's a peripheral for a big PC - the Scroll even charges from a USB port. If tablets get bigger and fancier that feature could well get lost, and that would be a damm shame. A big tablet becomes considered a PC in its own right in fact. It has to take on the responsibility of being an only device owned.

The Scroll seems to be mass sold by Maplins and Amazon etc. so has a big following. As can be seen here that means a community where people can get help beyond what any individual manufacturer can provide.
