Saddened to hear of this shocking loss and, like many others, my thoughts are with his family. Amys letter touched my heart strings.

Very nice to see that so many people have taken time to make a post, as a mark of respect for Dave.

Hello everyone,

I have joined the forum purely to express my heartfelt gratitude for your very touching messages in memory of my partner, Dave.

His Children and I have been overwhelmed by the hundreds of messages we have received. I hope it is of some help to you all that he did not suffer during his last moments. Also, I feel I should tell you he was exactly the same person "in real life" as the happy, straight-forward person he appeared to be on here. He will be sorely missed and never forgotten by the hundreds of friends he had, both online and offline.

I am working through Dave's famous "to-do" list that he kept by his PC, it says there are some files on his webspace he intended to share with you all. I know the names of them but I have no idea what they do - they are named "Android 4.0 crane image" and "Flashing kit". With your permission I will post a link to them sometime this week - I know he would have wanted me to as he hated letting people down.

Thank you again for your wonderful comments.

I've not been on this forum long nor have posted much but found Dave/Fonefixer to have been helpful, friendly and often one of the first to reply to my often silly questions!

I'm saddened to hear of his passing, my thoughts are with his family and loved ones.

Yes, we all loved Dave and will truly miss him, and he was a massive part of this forum on all levels. Thank you again for managing to post something on here so soon, we did not expect it, but we really appreciate it. x

Thank you Amy for letting us know. Dave would be very happy to know that we can continue his work. (I am downloading the files now - and will make them available for others, soon)

If you could let us know what time (UK time) Dave's funeral is tomorrow, as I have asked Stu (admin) to close this forum during that time.

Hello Charlie,

Dave's funeral commences at 3pm tomorrow (1pm UK time I believe). I dont think what has happened will really sink in until tomorrow. I know that there is more than 300 people attending from his employer alone, quite a few ex-colleagues are flying in today and overnight as they have insisted on being here to pay their respects.

He would not have wanted all the fuss, I wonder if he actually knew how many peoples lives he touched over the years?

His children and I have read a great many of his posts in the last few hours, a lot of which we diddnt understand, but he did have the gift of being able to explain technical things in very basic terms.

Once again, I must tell you how touched we all are at the very kind comments / emails received.
