I have just returned from afar , some of you will have known me before, its been so long since I came to this site, but I came to find out what happened to my opp FF, as I couldnt get into his Mobile Phone Forum. I have been deeply saddened by the news , which came as such a shock. Many contributors have already voiced just about everything about the helpful guy that gave so much of his time to help others, there is nothing so nobler , and nothing so admirable. I was the joker in the pack , always giving FF a "wind up" and a sarky comment ( my marine humour ), and he was always the first to respond with a witty "sniper shot" of his own.

I have seen the comments from his family and they have done him proud with their fortitude and stoical responses.
To any Newbies joining here , they will never know his spirit , his kindness and thoughtfulness , and his expert advice.
I never met or spoke to FF , he was always the guy that helped you and poked fun at. Sorry to post so late but felt I had to add my thoughts. I have lost close people in conflicts and accidents , but strangely his passing has affected me bigtime. Anyway I probably will not post on the forum again but I would like to leave a message in a song for "FF"

.......run down it FF , I can see you at the end !! Dave u were a star , AmyB , you are his reflection, my deepest condolences.

What incredibly sad news, I've not been on the forum for a couple of weeks and was shocked to see the post. He will be missed, a very friendly and helpfull member of the community.

I haven't been on for ages, I just popped in to see if there is anything going on with the original Scroll and found this. What a shock. Dave was clearly a really helpful, friendly guy and very well loved. RIP

I have just come onto the Scroll forum, after a long absence, to pm Dave about a problem I have. Then I find this. Just can't believe it, he was only in his 40's I believe? What was the cause?

So sad, a really good bloke. My very sincere condolences to his family.

Hi Andrew, I didn't know Dave for that long but he was an amazing person.
I believe he had a heart attack and despite surgical intervention he didn't make it.
A great loss and we all miss him.

Thanks TC. I hope it wasn't the move to Egypt that finished him off!

He helped me out several times with technical problems and always seemed to know the answers :D
