Is it just me or is anyone else suddenly having problems trying to livestream BBC News Channel on their Excel.
I use this a lot and for the last few days I keep getting an error mesage: "media selection request failed".
I can only think that the Beeb are up to something. I know they announced a policy earlier this year of re-engineering their web experience to an intelligent one that quizzes your tab and automatically presents the page as best suited for your device.

I have found a work-around (or this may need to be a permanent fix engendered by the Beeb?) which is to access live channels through BBCi-player and select the News Channel this way, but if I try this link which was working on my Excel a few days ago: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/10318089 all I get is the error message. Is anybody else having the same experience?

Just tried it on my GB Excel with my build.prop and have the same issue as you TC - Works fine on PC

Thanks Charlie, Thought I was losing my marbles (although the wife would say can't lose what you ain't got to start with )

When I used that link I got the message "Media not available in your territory"! Has Lancashire moved without telling me?!

I got around this by starting iplayer, tap the (inner) menu icon in iplayer and this will bring up a menu.
The bottom menu item is Live TV - click on that and you will get a dropdown of BBC channels with news 24 at the bottom. Works fine but still got the lip-sync issues.
