I thought this was a good price but I may be wrong

good find but shame its only class4. class6 is probalbly the best bet for storage on android tablets
and if we dev the tablets to move systemfiles to the tf card in future a class 10would be reqired to not degrade the speed of the tablet

if it was a class 6 I would buy it still a good find

It will work fine for storing pictures, videos and music. I would imagine games would work fine too. I have the exact same one. You would only need a faster class of card if you were using it for OS system files and high-res camera/video shooting, neither of which a tablet does.

The problem with using a Class 4 for storing video is that it takes so damn long to transfer large files to the card in the first place. I'd be inclined to go Class 10 personally even though the Essential and Excel seldom exceed a write speed of much beyond Class 6 levels as there's only a few quid in it. If you've a whole stack of videos to transfer (which I often have), you can always use a USB-to-microSDHC adaptor and transfer with the card plugged into a USB port on your PC anyway. I've found that process to be much quicker when transferring several GB at a time than doing it in-situ.

THIS seller has a Class 10 own-brand with reader at under £23 delivered. It's an excellent card for the money, and I can vouch for the Storage Options Essential being perfectly happy with it.
