A1CS FUSION5 10.1" Tablet - Opinions needed!

I have been set to purchase a Scroll Elite tablet from scan for around £200 but then stumbles across this:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/A1CS-FUSION5-Tablet-PC-Capacitive/dp/B007SHWKFQ/ref=cm_cr_pr_pb_t

It has amazing reviews and am really tempted. I know it is 8gb compared to the 16 of the Scroll Elite but saving £45 would be great. Any opinions???

I agree with you it does look good and if the spec is accurate then it is an A10 Allwinner so same chip as the Extreme and Elite.
I particularly noted that out of the 61 reviews that 56 of them have given 5 Stars and the lowest review is 3 star.

Unless you allready know someone who has got one who can give you more information, you pays your money and takes your chances

I would stay well away from that model. Consider the extra ~£45 for the Scroll Extreme/Elite:

1) UK Support - they claim they provide it but ...
2) This community (we won't be able to help much with that model)
3) ROMs - who knows the exact hardware in there
4) Build quality - from the pictures it looks plastic, very plastic.
4a) Glass Screen + Metal casing on the Extreme is superb.
4b) IPS screen on the Extreme/Elite is second to none.
5) Having a 4:3 AR really makes quite a difference, that looks 1.78:1 which is OK for some games and films, but for everything else is annoying.

I have tried 10.1", 7", 8" and 9.7" screens - my favourite for every day use is the 9.7".

You make some fine points Piers. Hmmm..I may just go for the Elite then as I like the way this forum is actively looking for ways to improve the user experience on these tablets. I also like the look of the glass front and brushed aluminium back. Also the elite has two USB ports compared to one on the other.

The good lady wife purchased a FUSION5 a few weeks ago and as I write reviews anyway I have published my thoughts on the tablet on Infobarrel but as far as I can see the tablet is a great buy; some of the older versions of the tablet shipped with the A8 I believe but that was just a review I read when searching with the wife.

Something that is probably obvious to you all is that when it promotes its 2180p Full HD that is only through the HDMI connection to a compatible screen.
Also there is no rear facing camera
Also there is no bluetooth

Anyway; you probably think I am a chancing spammer by now. I just thought I would offer some input.

Hi Darren and thank you for registering and posting. Is the casing plastic or glass/metal based like the Extreme?

The casing is indeed plastic.

Not sure if this is helpful but the system information the tablet holds says:

Model Number M1001
Kernel Version 3.0.8+ inet_dada@InetSoftware #308
Build number 01F2-D1-H1-H02-BE40.20120413
