My brother has the Galaxy S, and says it is an amazing phone.

Also Darky's ROMs are very regularly updated with custom 2.2 Froyo builds from here

Had a galaxy s or for all of 5 day's didn't like it, the build quality just didn't feel there, felt very plastic in the hand, I returned it for the Desire HD now that thing is awesome.
But its all personal preference if everyone liked the same thing what a boring world we would end up living in.......

From my point of view the IP4 is a better bet.

If you alter either of them in any way firmware-wise then send the handset in for service the warranty can be voided. However, I can reflash the IP4 back to stock very easily with the service software. Samsung service software is server-based and doesnt allow a "reflash-to-stock" if the firmware has been played with, even with my login which is higher than most engineers. In short, if you are a modder, dont touch it.

Dave i appreciate that mate, yes i am a tinker'er with my phones my ip4 is J/B when you say reflash it do you mean Restore?
Cos whennever i take my ip4 for any warrenty issues (which i have not as yet sine june 2010) i just do a restore via itunes..

I went phone shopping at the weekend with a friend and the girl at the phone shop told him to say clear of the Galaxy S and Nexus as the Galaxy S is there most returned mobile and the Nexus resets if your on a call fro longer then 3 mins. (The Nexus is almost the same as the Galaxy S)

I am torn between either a milestone 2 and a desire Z (can you tell ilike pop out keyboards ;) )

Really miss my Google G1
