I asked them when we should be expecting the new firmware, their response was

It will b interesting to see what exactly they produce
BTW when my scroll gets here I will rip the recovery image so anyone on clockwork can do back to teh offical on ean ddo this update if they want to

Similar reply to me, I was talking about the Google Reader issue btw:
Sorry Mark, see what you’re talking about. We are currently experiencing problems connecting to the google market. I believe this is behind your problem running the reader. We are waiting for a new firmware this week to correct this.

Very interesting, but I have noticed that Cherrypal have been talking about upgrading the Cherrypad, basically the Scroll in a different guise, to 2.3 Gingerbread rather than 2.2 Froyo since away back in November and still nothing has transpired, so won't hold my breath on anything happening in the near future.

i thought that we will never get 2.3 (the scroll does not have the needed hardware) as you need twice the ram the scroll has and at least a 1ghz processor.

That is wrong. there is no minimum processor requirement it was a rumor proved wrong by Dan Morrill, Android’s Open Source and Compatibility Tech Lead as he tweeted that “there’s no hard minimum processor requirement for Gingerbread. Trust me if there were, I’d know”.

I doubt we will get an offical upgrade off 2.1 if im honest...
