Good stuff, wonder what else is in that dir

If you delete something and the tablet becomes unstable, is there a factory restore / hard reset you can perform ?

Or for all of us for that matter ?

btw /system/usr/srec/config/en.us/grammars/VoiceDialer.g2g < is not an apk and I don't know what it actually does so I would be careful about deleting it...

Plane On. Wifi On.

Quick update, carried on using it constantly until it powered down and got over 2 hours more.

Hi all.
I've created an update.zip file that removes these apk's. You'll need clockworkmod installed.

I'm aware that WarpedFish is creating an update.zip that performs a number of modifications, but I have made this one for the removal of the phone apk's only.

I'll put the file up tomorrow.

Incidently, I think that a sub-forum for update.zip's should be made available. I'll suggest it in the appropriate forum.

Using a memory booster program, it showed me that even with the Plane Mode app running, there are still these processes being started, and even when I kill them, they start right back up again

com.android.phone
Dialer

I can't find them using a Super file manager either...

EDIT - Turned the tablet on at 10am after charging it all day yesterday and all night

Now it is 11:40am and I have 57% left

Using the Plane Mode app too.... not impressed

Display 49%
WiFi 43%
Device Idle 9%

Im going to use it constantly as long as I can, and see if the 2 x Battery widgets and the stock battery meter are telling the truth

Hi,

Update - I found using the apndroid app and airplane app got me upto 6hrs.

However this is not the best fix & does not work for everyone (firmware differences, i guess) - I am now testing (like others) the bat life now that I have rooted and renamed phone.apk mms.apk and telephoneyprovider.apk - to .old (if not renamed in this order you get a fc loop that re-booting does not solve )

Has anyone opened one up yet to see if the battery can be swapped out?

And does this completely kill the cell services etc ?

So we dont need the plane mode / apndroid app anymore ?
