I recently bought an Ampe A90 (http://www.slatedroid.com/topic/30929-a ... eo-review/) from China, after I ordered it I read some people had Wifi issues and decided to cancel. I did, but they sent it to me anyway, keeping my money. In the meantime I decided to sell it and spend a bit more to get a dual-core tablet.
Now I got the Ampe A90 and was pleasantly surprised - the Wifi was at 6Mbps (others were reporting 1-2) without any tinkering and I have quite easily got the full Android Market on it, the Netflix app even works. I'm happy enough with it but now that I've got my heart set on a more expensive model it's kind of spoiled the Ampe for me!
So I'm trying to sell it to put towards another tablet. I am honestly impressed with it - here's some more details:
PROs:
- Full market hack inc Facebook
- I've installed a version of Skype that works (though blurry - I think this is an ICS problem)
- The screen is amazing
- It's white with a metal rim so looks nice, a little different
- Netflix app works fine
- It has Bluetooth for sending files though I've not tested it
- The battery life is good
- HDMI
CONs
- It is only an Allwinner chip not dual-core or anything so while Flash works I've had problems with 4oD, for example. iPlayer is iffy. Youtube works really well though.
- Around the edges of the screen doesn't seem so well sealed so maybe something could get in under there. Right now the screen is perfect though.
I've got it on eBay at the moment for £175 but I'd accept best offers of £170 - this includes Special Delivery Next Day.
If it doesn't sell (2 days left) I'm happy to sell directly with Paypal for £155 (eBay takes 10% of final value which is an absolute nightmare). I can answer any questions you have, for the price of a Blackberry Playbook you could get this which I think is a bargain!
