Hello to all Scroll Tablet forum members from Storage Options.
As you may know we’ve been following the posts in this forum for some time, but we’ve never directly engaged with anyone or directly answered any queries. We hope that having an open week of questions here will be of benefit to you all and to help us improve our service. Here’s a quick FAQ which we hope will give you an idea of our motives and what we want to do.
Why are you coming forward like this?
Our reasons, in no particular order:
To dispel some myths.
To answer your questions honestly.
To put forward our point of view, explain why things are the way they are and give you a glimpse into our vision.
To show you who we actually are, the people, the business
To accept your criticism if it’s merited (and apologise), defend ourselves and educate if it’s not.
Because we owe the members of this forum a debt of gratitude; you’ve helped support the Scroll family and help it become a real commercial success.
And mainly, because we believe in what we do and we want to become better at it. To do that we have to listen.
Why come forward now? Why not sooner?
Partly because of resources – if I (or a colleague) start regularly replying to questions then we must maintain that service standard and continue to be responsive (do it for one, do it for all). Whilst we want to be honest with you, we simply don’t have the resources for that and support queries are best handled through our existing mechanisms. Who are Storage Options? Who owns the brand?
Storage Options is a brand owned by an IT Distributor called CCI Distribution. CCI are a mid-sized business, based in the UK that will turnover approx £40m this year (across a whole range of products and brands including Storage Options). CCI were acquired by a larger company (called CMS Peripherals) on September 1st of this year making us part of group which turns over around £150m a year. A dedicated team of 5 of us now work purely on developing and supporting the Storage Options brand, including all product sourcing and development, technical support, authoring, design etc. etc. My name is Paul Evison, I am effectively Head of Brand and Marketing Manager for CCI Distribution. I will do my best to answer all your questions honestly, please play fair and be gentle!
Thanks, looking forward to hearing your questions - I will do my utmost to answer everything, but I’m not making any promises that everything will be answered to everyone’s satisfaction – just that I’ll be honest and do my best. I will attempt to come online everyday during the week, but bear with me if things aren’t being answered as quickly as you would like – I do have a job to do as well.
A the end of the week we will give away a new Scroll Excel tablet (as soon as we have one in stock) to a member who posts a question, drawn at random. Our decision on the prize winner being final, etc. etc. etc.
