Aye that thread needed to turn into a dev one, to get this far. A 2nd how to should be done at some point. If suggsy agrees, he could change the thread title.

Right now I'm pleased with it,

Small issues right now with apps being marked as incompatible with the tablet.

I'm not sure if its just me but I find pressing the hardware buttons doesn't always register or at least I need to hold them for a little while longer.
Soft buttons on the other hand work great!

Tested youtube, very smooth with no lag.

One thing I have noticed which I love, is that the brightness slider actually does something now!
So many times with the GB rom i've been watching a movie at night and I feel its just too bright for my eyes, I can actually turn the brightness down properly now :D

I flashed Suggsy's rom and it was quite easy, just followed the steps and had no problems.

The battery life playing videos with MX Video player is immense, watched for over an hour last night and only used 7% of the battery!!

Love the swipe to close, and iplayer now in sync.

Love using a joypad, and the tablet just seems more stable now.

Like

Lip sync sorted
ICS features
Skype works with the camera
Wifi connects faster

Dislike

The browser seems unstable started using opera mini which seems better
The platform as a whole seems less stable, I've had to do several restarts when it's stopped responding using different apps, it seems the incidence of this seems greater than it was under GB.
Battery - it looks like the wifi remains on when asleep which drains the battery, I'm using an auto airplane app to get around this
Apps - app compatibility in the play store is much worse

The HDMI out works fine, tested at the weekend. With the lip sync fixed this is really cool ;)

About the apps, something has changed with the new Google Play store. My Galaxy S phone that I had GTA 3 on, and uninstalled to free up some space, now shows as incompatible. I paid for that, and now I can't play it??? WTF?

Good:
Lip sync problems are gone...iplayer and tvcatchup now play as they should
The stock browser has a mode to select what type of device you are..can pretend to be an ipad which helps tvcatchup play without adverts!

Bad:
stock browser occasionally crashes/locks up
external sd card not properly mounted/recognised
Location tracking via access point doesn't function...was a slightly worrying and occasionally useful feature of stock rom
Street view not functioning

That said...well done guys... :D

the sd card is available in the file manager but dosn't show in settings/storage. When I tried cwm it didn't recognise or allow me to mount the ext sd card. But them I may be missing somthing :?

Thanks for the posts, keep them coming. It does seem ICS (even tho' there are some issues) is better on the Excel than GB.

You need to fix the permissions in the permissions file to allow writing by apps to the external SD card.

See this topic from blueagle69in the how to section:

viewtopic.php?f=55&t=2202

I managed to do it with just ES file explorer on my tablet, MAKE SURE YOU SET THE PERMISSIONS CORRECTLY before you reboot. Then check again just to be safe ;)
