finding 4.0.3 and 4.0.4 for the Excel

just thought i would try to keep this thread alive.

further to my first post, any advice is welcome for any optimisations. has anyone noticed any speed boosts by following any guides/installing any apps etc?

any further info on any updates? i cant see a need for ICS to be upgraded as suggsy already did a great job with it but i have been playing with my nexus 7 for another week compared to when i first posted and jelly bean is excellent so it would be nice.

Patience my friend, I am sure that once a stable version of JB is out for one SO tab it will get adapted to suite our (aging...lol) Excels. (jealous of your Nexus )

Can some body kindly tell me how do I update from 4.0.3 to 4.0.4. I have flash it to 4.0.3 with livesuite software by holding the home button and press power button 6 times? But I am not sure 4.0.3 have recovery tool or I don't know how to access it?

Did you use Suggsy89's 4.0.3 rom ? if you didn't.... then don't try to use his update zip.

It is Suggsy 4.0.3 I got from you. Can you tell me how to get into recovery mode on the scroll so I know if I am doing something wrong? Do you have to install clockworkmod recovery for Suggsy 4.0.3?

If you have installed Suggsy89's 4.0.3 then you already have CWM installed with it.
To access Clockwork Recovery Mode turn you tablet completely OFF.

When ready, hold and keep holding down the menu key (the one with stacked horizontal lines) then hold down the power ON key. Hold and keep both keys depressed until you will see the tablet start to boot (Little green android figure booting screen) keep holding down both buttons and the tablet will continue to boot into CWM.
Assuming you have loaded the 4.0.4 update.zip onto your external SD card, choose "install zip from SD card" by navigating up/down using the volume keys, press the power button to select - then on the second menu which appears choose "apply sdcard update zip" then on the third menu screen that appears navigate down using the volume keys to "install sdcard update zip" press the power key to select and the update should begin.

Note: if you get an error saying the file cannot be found installation aborted - reboot normally, move the update zip to the tablet's own sd memory partition and try again.

I followed your instruction and it didn't work.

Trashcooky I just wonder if you by anychance you uploaded the iview firmware by mistake instead of the Suggsy. Because i see the files name are the same 4.0.3-97F1-D1-H2-H01-N413.20120314.rar and there is no clockworkmod preinstalled?? Is there anyway i can check if its suggsy or not?
