Just realised my emoticons are working :-)
The little things....
BTW. I posted this from my Excel. I ported over the settings from my Galaxy S3.
I forgot about the signature.

I did like the JB Tom, besides battery life.
Whatsmore the Trebuchet launcher never crashed like it does on CM Lite.
So I am now using your 4.04 rom suggs.
Which is great. The framerate on the can is a little low, but I don't really use that anyway.
I was thinking though of taking the libcamera.so from your build you gave me ages back and trying that on 4.04.
Can't stop bloody tinkering now.
You have a lot to answer for. Lmao.
Hope your Excel behaves itself :-)

Glad to have you working again Suggsy we all have missed you loads.
I recently joined ebay trying to get the wife a cheap Excel to stop her nicking mine.
As an Ebay newbie I made a fatal error and bid £10.00 on an Excel which when I looked more carefully has a broken/multiple cracks digitiser. Unfortunately I seem to be stuck with it as the highest bidder and what with an additional £6.00 postage, I am so angry with myself - although it is otherwise fully working.

Anyway, point being if you need any spare parts to get yours going again - you can have it (free post) for an optimised JB rom for the Excel on the forum.

Gutting mate.
EBay can be fantastic. My Mrs is forever buying and selling. I do enjoy the odd purchase. But it is too easy to get caught out. We have all done it :-)
Tell your other half that tech is bad for her. I am living proof. A sprain in my finger (rsi) and a knackered wrist. I'm now practically one handed :-(
Going back to JB though. If it can be done, then Syggsy is the man.
I did manage to get my system partition to around 14mb running the JB you kindly shared Trashcooky by removing phone apps, Bluetooth and SMS Push. Not bad considering I left Live Wallpapers. It was a lot better than the Lite version.
On yours, the launcher was stable.

Well I have just stumbled across another JB ROM which so far appears to work on the trusty Excel.Momo9/iview/A10 allwinner variants.

It is a modded Christian Troy ROM "Cyanbook" and is available to download here: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?7k1pw8mbr7kiwy3

There is also a much trimmed down Gapps download to go with it here: http://www.mediafire.com/?in0nkexi8cyn7ay

This is the accompanying information:
FULL WIPE IS REQUIRED EVEN IF YOU ARE COMING FROM V1

Change Log :
Updated CM 10 sources
Now updated to 4.1.2
All camera funtions (zoom, video. Panorama ) now work.
Gtalk video works
Launcher changed to trebuchet
Nexus 7 Fingerprint.
FileManager Added.
Holo Notes Added.
Very stable no crashes

FULL WIPE IS REQUIRED EVEN IF YOU ARE COMING FROM V1

Usual precautions prevail - backup! and its your own responsibility if you brick your tablet!

Terminal emulater reports I have a system partition requirement of 251 Mb with 8K spare which is double the original free system memory on the original Christian Troy ROM on the Excel but still only a piffling amount.

For those who don't know the terminal emulator command to see their partitions it is df

Whoever is facing issues with keyboard not poping out.. plz try this.. 1)Flash just the rom.. not Gapps....2) boot to OS.. 3)reboot to recovery.. 4)Flash gapps.. if this does not work.. move LatinIME.apk from /data/app to /system/app

Additionally this SD card swap looks very interesting but I haven't got that far yet:

* How to Swap Internal External Sd-card : Use any file manager with root permissions (eg. ES File manager) >> navigate to /system/build.prop >> open build.prop >> change value of 'persist.sys.vold.switchexternal=' to 1 to swap .

* How to enable phablet ui : Use any file manager with root permissions (eg. ES File manager) >> navigate to /system/build.prop >> open build.prop >> change value of 'ro.disable_phablet_ui=' to 0 to enable phablet UI .

Well, I'm having trouble with Trebuchet straight off - when I try to long press a widget onto a home screen it keeps crashing.
I tried a full wipe again and let the os rebuild the cache data but this made no difference at all.
I have replaced (not uninstalled yet but I might do) Trebuchet with Apex launcher which I don't like as much as Trebuchet but it does the job and I now have the screen widgets I wanted.

I have noticed that there is a noticeable lag on screen changes but not enough to put me off yet.
Unfortunately, one of my favourite little time wasters (GLWG) Great Little War Game - refuses to work on this ROM.

Also when I ran Adaway, it told me there was insufficient room so I changed the default from /system to /data/data/hosts
which did the trick and I now have a nice adfree TVcatchup working again.
If it isn't broken then don't try to fix it!

With the cm lite jb Rom I believe there was trouble with trebuchet. But I never had issues with your first jb Rom
Funny enough, there has been reports of trebuchet crashing with widgets over on the xda forum.

Well, I decided to uninstall trebuchet and also Apex launcher.
Have installed the free Nova launcher and set the grid to 7 columns by 4 rows which is very comfortable for my failing eyesight.
Running very smooth on Nova.

Not sure why exactly but since the above uninstalls I now have 12K free on system partition so it seems to have increased by 50% but still a pifling amount.

Nova works very much like Trebuchet and I am pleased with the results so far.
