Thanks suggsy :)

Once I'm finished with uni (6 weeks to go ;)) I'm gonna focus more on learning about compiling android builds.

Don't work too hard :-)
I found a new tool called XDA Auto Tool.
That's rather impressive.
I'm getting some input from a kind guy over at XDA with ICS apps.
Will try more, once I shake off the dreaded lurgie :-(

Hello,

I followed the recovery option so should be able to get back 2.3 (I think) but for me it doesn't work. I only have the Essential model (I know - it says Excel only) and the only problem is that it doesn't recognise when I touch the screen, apart from that it only takes around 20 second to boot from pressing the button to showing the lock screen.

I flashed it because I thought that it *might* work due to the Essential and Excel being the same hardware, just different screens. I was correct up to a point

Anyway, if someone has an idea how to work in the resistive driver into the img that would be appreciated a lot.

You did what? Uhm well does Clockworkmod Recovey work at all?
If so download my update 1 copy over the drivers for touch screen and flash it.

I followed the instructions to the letter, however when pressing the menu + power it loads but I cant go up or down or select. I do see recover screen though.

I think youve messed up mate, did you do a backup via Clockworkmod following Mitres post?

If so you may be able to get back to 2.3

I used the CWM5 Stock Excel package and then something else - it created a 30MB file on the sd card though. I know this is a lot to ask but I don't suppose you have MSN, GTalk, AIM, Jabber or similar?
