I have already explained myself to Trashcooky. Where do you come into the equation? I have received no messages.

Just flashed this and my details are similar to yours TC and having issues with the internal nand SD storage to work.

Code: Select all

Filesystem            Size       Used         Free          Blksize
    /dev                  153M        48k         153M          4096
    /mnt/asec             153M        OK          153M          4096
    /mnt/obb              153M        OK          153M          4096
    /system               393M      318M           75M          4096
    /data                   1G       219M         961M          4096
    /cache                125M         4M         121M          4096
    /storage/sdcard1      14G        2G          13G          32768

Then I flashed Suggsy's compatibility zip and the details changed to

Code: Select all

Filesystem            Size       Used         Free          Blksize
    /dev                  153M        48k         153M          4096
    /mnt/asec             153M        OK          153M          4096
    /mnt/obb              153M        OK          153M          4096
    /system               393M      318M           75M          4096
    /data                   1G       219M         961M          4096
    /cache                125M         4M         121M          4096
    /storage/sdcard0      14G        2G          13G          32768
   /mnt/secure/asec     14G        2G          13G          32768

Looks like the zip codes the external SD card to be used as the internal one, which is why you are getting issues with your app's 2 SD.

Yes, Suggsy suggested it is as easy as editing the "vold.fstab" ...see here: viewtopic.php?f=55&t=3186&start=10#p25128
but that didn't resolve it either, so although you can run JB and that probably the bug will turn out to be easily fixable in the end, I don't believe that anyone has actually found it yet. So for me unfortunately it remains a no goer on the Excel at this time.
If it isn't broken then don't try to fix it!

FIX FOR INTERNAL SD CARD

I have now the sdcard0 = the internal SDcard (the Excel Nandi) and sdcard1 = External SD card (16gb) all working correctly (so far anyway).

I can not take credit for this as I did not make the .zip (I think it's by Christian Troy, Not sure tho'), I just found it and tried it.

Put this format-internal-memory.zip on your External SD card and flash it from CWM.

The above .zip was in the UpdateMe app on the CM10 rom, I just had to change the download path to get it.

NOTE:

If you changed nandi to nandj in vold.fstab you will need to change that back to nandi.

I did install this JB rom from CWM and not livesuite, more details on that to follow...

Enjoy -

df now:

Code: Select all
Filesystem            Size       Used         Free          Blksize
    /dev                  153M        48k         153M          4096

    /system               393M      318M           75M          4096

@Charlie, Great news. couple of questions if I may.

1. Was this Suugsy89's customised for Excel CM10 or as was from Christian Troy on XDA that you have flashed.
2. What did you use for a compatability.zip ? Suggsy's Excel compatability or Momo9 from XDA

Regarding Livesuite, as far as I know I don't think you can use Livesuite of this particular CM10 as it is dsigned for CWM.

Cheers and great stuff - be good to get a CWM for the Yarvik too. :D

Just flashed the Yarvik rom now and working on CWM -

Answers:
1. Christian Troy on XDA CM10 build 2012-09-13 --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthr ... ?t=1821398
2. MOMO9 needs momo9_compatibility_1.2.x.zip compatibility zip --> http://old.androidfilehost.com/main/All ... _1.2.0.zip

I used suggsy's 4.1.1 livesuite img then did the the rest via CWM (see xda, link above for instructions)

OK, well at the moment I am just about to try Suggsy's JB and compatability and the the SD card fix on that combo so I will report back to you how it goes. Installing with CWM and going to factory reset once flashed.

Update:

Well it would appear that this combo has hit the jackpot.
Suggsy89's JB rom as listed in the OT of this thread + Suggsy89's Excel compatibility.zip + the SD card fix listed by Charlie.

I was puzzled as I couldn't appear to find the internal SD space as it wasn't where I expected to find it.

On ICS the internal sdcard space was located/found via system/mount/sdcard and when I previously installed additional data such as required for Sentinel 3 I could find it buried here, effectively on the nand and completely unaffected by the External Sdcard which could be removed as required without affecting this game.

I set all the options in es file explorer to root and show hidden files and I even mounted the system as RW but no matter how hard I searched manually I simply couldn't find this data anywhere on the tablet - but I knew that it must be hiding somewhere.

I had a rake around on the External Sdcard but couldn't find the additional downloads I had made so in the end I carried out a full device search using es file explorer and found my elusive files here: /storage/sdcard0/Android/data/com.origin8.Sentinal3/files/ which although sdcard0 is the lable for the internal SD space where the files are residing is actually on my External Sdcard so in fact I appear to now have (good job it is class 10) 26 Gig of internal SD space. It would appear the rest of this 32Gig card is taken up with my updates and backups I had previously loaded on there. :D

@TC - So by doing it the way you have are your internal & external SD's now reversed?

So sdcard0 = external, even tho' the OS thinks it's the internal nand.

Well something is certainly very strange - sentinel3 data is not where it used to be on ICS and sdcard0 which should be strictly the internal sd nand is currently pointing to my external sdcard.

However, I don't appear to be completely out of the woods as Asphalt 5 still tells me I don't have any space to install the required additional data. At this time, I am prepared to think that maybe this app is no longer compatible with JB.

I can confirm though that using es file explorer that /mnt/ takes me to folders "extsd" and "sdcard". Historically on ICS "extsd" is the external and sdcard is the internal SD card space

However, although this appears to be the ICS protocol for the sd cards if I then change directory to /storage/ I find 3 folders named sdcard0 (which should be the internal nand SD space) and sdcard1 which should be the external and sdcard3 which is the usb hosting folder.

sdcard1 is empty but sdcard0 shows the contents of my external sdcard.
I really don't know what to think at the moment as this suggest a conflict to me but having said that this is the best yet.
I will keep it for a while and see if any other anomalies appear.

EDIT additional: Apps to SD is working absolutely fine and is moving legitimately transferrable files directly to my external sdcard.
If it isn't broken then don't try to fix it!
