Hi all,

Im new to the Scroll, Android and this forum so please be patient!!

Im trying to install the CWM as mentioned in this post but im obviously doing something wrong.

ive downloaded and installed adb SDK and the java plugin.

copied the 2 files to the platform-tools folder C:\Program Files\Android\android-sdk\platform-tools
but for step 3 open android-sdk-windows folder, i dont have this windows folder?
i have C:\Program Files\Android\android-sdk\platform-tools

i have continued and ran the command prompt but it says device not found??

do i have to do something in adb SDK or to the scroll? which i assume you just plugin? i have only installed the SDK and let it install the packages it wanted to.

many thanks for your help

Simon

No, you need to edit the one in the sdk folder, navigate to
Code: Select all
C:\Program Files (x86)\Android\android-sdk\extras\google\usb_driver

Edit the file called "android_winusb.inf" add this code

Code: Select all
;Scroll Excel
%SingleAdbInterface%        = USB_Install, USB\VID_18D1&PID_0002&MI_01
%CompositeAdbInterface%     = USB_Install, USB\VID_18D1&PID_0002&REV_9999&MI_01
%SingleAdbInterface%        = USB_Install, USB\VID_18D1&PID_0003&REV_0230&MI_01
%CompositeAdbInterface%     = USB_Install, USB\VID_18D1&PID_0003&MI_01
%CompositeAdbInterface%     = USB_Install, USB\VID_18D1&PID_4E22&MI_01
%SingleAdbInterface%        = USB_Install, USB\VID_18D1&PID_D001&REV_0230
%CompositeAdbInterface%     = USB_Install, USB\VID_18D1&PID_D001

So it looks like this

Code: Select all
[Google.NTx86]
; HTC Dream
%SingleAdbInterface%        = USB_Install, USB\VID_0BB4&PID_0C01
%CompositeAdbInterface%     = USB_Install, USB\VID_0BB4&PID_0C02&MI_01
%SingleBootLoaderInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_0BB4&PID_0FFF
; HTC Magic
%CompositeAdbInterface%     = USB_Install, USB\VID_0BB4&PID_0C03&MI_01
;
;Moto Sholes
%SingleAdbInterface%        = USB_Install, USB\VID_22B8&PID_41DB
%CompositeAdbInterface%     = USB_Install, USB\VID_22B8&PID_41DB&MI_01
;
;Google NexusOne
%SingleAdbInterface%        = USB_Install, USB\VID_18D1&PID_0002&MI_01
%CompositeAdbInterface%     = USB_Install, USB\VID_18D1&PID_0002&REV_9999&MI_01
%SingleAdbInterface%        = USB_Install, USB\VID_18D1&PID_0002&MI_01
%CompositeAdbInterface%     = USB_Install, USB\VID_18D1&PID_0002&MI_01
%CompositeAdbInterface%     = USB_Install, USB\VID_18D1&PID_0002&MI_01
;
;Scroll Excel
%SingleAdbInterface%        = USB_Install, USB\VID_18D1&PID_0002&MI_01
%CompositeAdbInterface%     = USB_Install, USB\VID_18D1&PID_0002&REV_9999&MI_01
%SingleAdbInterface%        = USB_Install, USB\VID_18D1&PID_0003&REV_0230&MI_01
%CompositeAdbInterface%     = USB_Install, USB\VID_18D1&PID_0003&MI_01
%CompositeAdbInterface%     = USB_Install, USB\VID_18D1&PID_4E22&MI_01
%SingleAdbInterface%        = USB_Install, USB\VID_18D1&PID_D001&REV_0230
%CompositeAdbInterface%     = USB_Install, USB\VID_18D1&PID_D001

[Google.NTamd64]

%CompositeAdbInterface%     = USB_Install, USB\VID_18D1&PID_D001
;
;Scroll Excel
%SingleAdbInterface%        = USB_Install, USB\VID_18D1&PID_0002&MI_01
%CompositeAdbInterface%     = USB_Install, USB\VID_18D1&PID_0002&REV_9999&MI_01
%SingleAdbInterface%        = USB_Install, USB\VID_18D1&PID_0003&REV_0230&MI_01
%CompositeAdbInterface%     = USB_Install, USB\VID_18D1&PID_0003&MI_01

Then go to device manager in the control panel on your pc, see if there is a something like "android usb device"
Right click, then install driver, then have disk, navigate to the .inf file and it should install.
I think thats right, im typing from memory :lol:
