How To "Flash Android 4.0.3 ICS" (Excel Only)
Posted: March 3rd, 2012, 6:11 pm
I have updated the download now, its my own livesuit image, custom made, based on all my previous work + camera fix.

Clockworkmod is included in this image, so no need to flash it after.
This is my final build. No updates.zips are necessary now, there is no need to use my "updates" with this image, it will not change anything.
This Guide Assumes You are Using Microsoft Windows XP, Vista or 7
Read all the way through this, make sure you understand every aspect of the guide first
Please see this for more detailed instructions on setting up

Get The SDK
First off, if you have never modded or owned an Android device before, you have probably not heard of the Android SDK, its a development kit released by the "All Mighty" Google
You will need to download this in order for you to Flash ICS
Download Link - http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html (Follow suggestions and install "Platform-Tools")
Once you have got the SDK installed, download the drivers below, and copy them to your "extras/google/usb_driver" path..
Mine is
- Code: Select all
C:\Program Files (x86)\Android\android-sdk\extras\google\usb_driver
ADB Drivers
Windows 7 64-bit and 32-bit (Should work for XP and Vista also)
You will need to re-install the drivers for ADB to work correctly, i have uploaded mine as they are already modified.
Download.. >>> http://www.box.com/s/5649f46db97cfbb3c117 Mod Edit: this link is broken
Once you have done all the above, plug in your Excel and it will ask to install the drivers for it, select "Have Disk" navigate to where you copied my drivers to previously, and follow prompts.
THIS WILL WIPE EVERYTHING, It will format and re-partition your NAND FLASH, you will lose Gingerbread and Clockworkmod Recovery! If you have not made a backup yet, do not do this!
Do not attempt this if you feel you are unsure of what you are doing
Do not attempt this if you feel you are unsure of what you are doing
Do This First
Before you do anything to your stock Scroll Excel i suggest you follow Miters' post on flashing CWM5 to the Excel >> http://scrolltabletforum.co.uk/site/viewtopic.php?f=55&t=1800
Make a backup, you will need it in the future if you wish to go back to stock.
Terms + Conditions
You will not hold me responsible if you brick you Scroll Excel, although i have tested this, there may be a slight chance something goes wrong, you never know, your PC may explode while doing this!
Can i flash back to stock?
Yes... >>> You will need to flash "Tablo" Firmware via LiveSuit, install Clockworkmod Recovery for Gingerbread then restore your original backup.
Tablo Firmware
This is the only image i have tested that will get us back to stock 2.3 Gingerbread.

HERE WE GO................ ^ Make sure you have done all the above first
Simple Guide
Download This (New Image) ---- http://dl.dropbox.com/u/62587913/Suggsy%20...%20120502.zip
Extract the file to a folder of your choice....
Flashing via LiveSuit V1.07
Make sure you have LiveSuit and its drivers installed (Download) >>> https://www.box.com/s/3u4vulp4v3ujtrblnhnf
The device must be off and un-plugged
- Load LiveSuit, click the yellow box, select your extracted image
#
I am now going to suggest to use the Home key,
I flash a lot of images, and my Vol+ is kind of dodgy now.
#
Hold down Home button, plug in usb cable, press Power button 6-10 times
LiveSuit will eventualy detect your device, click "Format Upgrade" option
LiveSuit will then flash the device, this could take up to 3 minutes
You will then see a box with a warning triangle, unplug the device
The device should boot up, give it a few minutes to load...
If it displays a box on load, click it, it will reboot and clear the cache
Reboot!
#
Install ClockworkMod Recovery (Second Post)
#
You should be ready to go, have a play... you will be impressed
A quick test showed that everything works out of the box.
Overclocking is supported, i do not advise to go above 1.1ghz! You will experience glitches and freezes.
@ 1.2ghz Quadrant Score = 1800+
Stock = 1680+
External SdCard is mounted @ /mnt/extsd (I will fix this later on, most apps will use internal storage, NOT SDCARD)
What Works
This will be updated as i continue to test....
Based on latest Firmware (Updated 09/03/12)
Pretty much everything
- Boot
Touchscreen
Hardware Buttons
Wifi
Camera
Sound
SdCard
USB Storage (I tested my flash drive)
Mount to PC via USB
Market App (most apps show, not fully tested)
Flash Player
Youtube App
BBC Iplayer App
BBC Iplayer Via Stock Browser (Go settings, change device to Android, and use flash, not HTML5)
ChainFire
ClockworkMod App (Does work, kind of)
Titanium Backup
