faulty hdmi?

Postby min87 » May 17th, 2012, 8:51 pm

hi all, first post

I had my scroll extreme tablet for a week and as for a budget range all I can say is wow, it does all I want however... I can't get the HDMI to output on my tv. Tuesday I decided to try the HDMI feature onto my tv.. most of the time the tv said 'no signal' but somehow later in the day I got the tablet running from my tv so today I wanted to do the same and guess what.. 'no signal'. I went to my friends house awhile ago for testing... I had the tablet running on the tv without a problem the first time around.. I restarted the tablet and again.. 'no signal'

does anyone here have the same problem as me? are there any fixes for this?

edit: I tried with another cable, still no luck

Hi,

Welcome to the forum.

This may or may not help but I've had similar problems with SCART cables in the past. Either no signal or picture and no sound. It's possible the connections on the cable or tablet aren't positive enough and you get intermittent connections. Have you tried adjusting the connections slightly when running?

I'll try my HDMI output and post again.

Barry.

May have sussed the problem.

When I connected up before turning on the TV and tablet I got no signal.

However when I disconnected from the TV and replugged in it works fine. I've got a very big newspaper at the moment.

Hope that helps

sorted, I got tv output running stable.. weirdly I changed the screen ratio on my tv from 16:9 to 4:3 and the home screen appeared (woo), then I changed to 'just scan'.. restarted the tablet and.. no problem after booting!! :D

another problem perhaps? I'm not sure if it was the app or me not remembering

before (I think) when I muted the sound by lowering the volume and I'm quite sure the keyboard tapping sound was muted too... I installed the app 'Volume Control+' since I wanted a volume widget due to the bad volume buttons on the tablet.. however after uninstalling the app, while the tablet was muted it was still making keyboard clicking sounds while I was on the net etc, the clicking sound is stuck on one level regarding to which volume level I set it to.

I'm aware the keyboard clicking sound has its own mute option in the sound settings

can someone clarify if the app messed up my tablet?
