scroll extreme usb& hdmi ports somewhat dodgy

Postby madmatt30 » June 9th, 2012, 8:53 am

as above, has anyone else found this, the usb host & hdmi ports seem to be set too far into the actual casing
Ive had to get a stanley knife & trim some of the casing off both the usb otg & the mini hdmi cable to get them to work (& these are the ones that came in-box with the tablet!)
theyre still not perfect,if I move the tablet about I can still lose connection to both ports but something Ill have to live with now, just wondering if this is the norm??

I've mentioned it twice as mine are the same. My USB port corrupts data. No one else seems to have said it.

ive noticed right from the off (when i got the tablet 2 weeks ago) that the usb cable was loose when plugged in
I have no problem with the standard usb one (for usb debuggging/adb/ mass storage to pc),it seems fine
its the usb host one & the hdmi that are the problem,as I mentioned Ive 90% solved it by trimming the black sleeving from the usb/hdmi cable ends back by 2-3mm, a lot more solid connectiopn but still not perfect - i can still lose connection if i move the tablet about too much, ive only really noticed the last few days since trying out hdmi & the otg cable with a 64gb flash stick - this is a pain with the flash drive as I plan on taking it while working away with films stored on it,need to buy a longer otg cable or a usb extension cable as if I leave the drive hanging in the air as the otg cable supplied is too short it can pull loose & lose connection (temporarily solved by blutacking the flash drive to the back of the tablet ;-)

For me the worst port is the headphone socket.

I'm on my second tablet and the port seems to small on both, the plug needs to be forced in.

The case has cracked again on mine.
