Contacts on the Extreme

The mail application on the (stock) Extreme allows me to select the contact name in an incoming email and save it to a contacts list. I have been unable to discover any other way of getting access to the contacts for editing and browsing other than this.

Typing a partial name into the "To:" field of a new email does seem to retrieve matches but this is a far cry from being able to browse and edit the list.

Has anyone a clue how to access the "Contacts" - the ability to create a shortcut to the application would be useful - but using ES File manager and trying to create a shortcut to the "Contacts" system app doesn't seem to work.
