Before I started I check that the tablet appears to be working correctly. This one arrived with the QC sticker broken, as if it had been opened previously or repaired. I was fairly confident that there are no signs of the old problem.

Just a few hours later and this replacement is now showing EXACTLY the same fault as the old unit in EXACTLY the same location on the screen (right behind where the speaker is). I am now wondering if this is a common fault due to internal components not being correctly secured, or if there is a batch of affected batteries or something like that.

I am seriously regretting that I bought this thing. If I had not bought it from a shop that is apparently notorious for reacting violently when you try and get a refund I would have got my money back the first time around. I needed to use this weekend to get it set up for a job I had in mind for it, and now I am back to square one. It is not like I can even put up with the defect as the fault looks exactly like a migraine aura for me, and it induces nausea every time I see it.

Am I the only one having this problem with the Scroll Extreme II?

OH Dear, sounds like you need to strike whilst the iron is hot and send it back to SO letting them know that the seal was broken when you received it and that this unit has the same defect. :(
If it isn't broken then don't try to fix it!

I sent back the unit on Friday, begged them to have a replacement to me by Saturday, which they said they could not do. The replacement arrived today. The case on this one was not even properly closed, I had to snap it shut. I charged it up, switched it on, and exactly the same fault as was present on the first two was present on this one although to a slightly lesser degree.

I am not sure what to make of this. My suspicion had moved to the problem being caused by poor securing of components inside the case. If that was so, then you would have thought the remedy would have necessitated the case being properly closed when it was put back together. This would be a good value tablet if I could get one that works.

Also, this one does not have Jellybean, but at this stage I do not care about that, as long as I can get a unit that works and does not induce migraines.

Oh dear, it does sound like you are being given the run-around.
I hope things work out OK for you in the end. :(
