CM10 or JellyBean Preview

Postby stubaldock » August 7th, 2012, 8:03 am

So Mr Troy has done it again :) he has released a very rough but working JB rom, I've yet to try it to see if it works on the Extreme but props to him and his associates for pulling it together :ugeek: I copied his original quote from slatedroid below:

known bugs:
* hw accelerated video playback (cedar libraries will not compile because some prebuilt blobs require ICS functions)
* camera (needs cedar)
* hdmi output (i will try to implement iy in next builds)
* ntfs / exfat (the same as above)
* mass-storage
* other things i guess

flash rom + gapps + comp zip 1.2 and do a full wipe

tested on Mediacom 907c so i don't guarantee it will work on other devices, probably it will not work on devices with a "legacy" compatibility zip because the ramdisk has changed

later i'll open a dedicated thread i guess

Hey Kev :)

It's at the top of page 1 of CT's cm9 nightlies forum on slatedroid. I'm useless at pasting links into forums lol.... It says : For CM10 Preview 1 click here

I am following your post with great interest - thanks for keeping us informed.
What problems are you having with CM10/Jellybean?
If it isn't broken then don't try to fix it!

there is a mention that

* !!! IMPORTANT !!! You need a /system partition of at least 300 MB or you have to avoid flashing gapps !!! IMPORTANT !!!

I do not now what size the scroll extreme partition is ?

i followed the normal instructions using cwm,with my files on ext sd card.

* Boot into CWM keeping pressed VOL- (MENU) and POWER for 3 secs, than release POWER and after another sec release VOL- (or use Novo7 tools if it doesn't work for your device)
* Select "wipe data/factory reset"
* Select "install zip from sdcard" -> "choose zip from sdcard" (or "choose zip from internal sdcard" if your files are into internal memory) and flash, in this order, rom / gapps / compatibility zip
* Now go back, and select "Reboot system now"

Basically everything goes fine no error messages but once am screen asks says for country (am United Kingdom it defaults to USA) or at your unlock screen if you skip gapps.. Touch-screen does not work at all,its like compatibility zip doesn't work , i am losts what to do .....

Same here. Installed CM10 preview with compatibility and gapps and it doesnt work, as no touch screen contrrols.

If anyone else tries, make sure you do a CWM backup first, as I had difficulty rebuilding back to CM9, had to restore from backup.

Bit too soon, but I bet it wont be long before we get a CM10 version for the Extreme.
