You are lucky you got 66%!... mine is stuck at 5% even after a charge through the night, the problem is i hate having to send this back to Ebuyer for a replacement because there is always the chance you will get a replacement tablet with a different fault.. the two main issues have been Charging problems and severe dead pixels.. one or two is not ideal but fine, the one i have is perfect as can be for this price except the charging issue, I tried the usb to trickle charge but that never shifted it from 5%, i'm not sure if this is a software or hardware issue?.. never previously owned a smartphone or tablet i turned it on out of the box and it was about quarter charged... i did learn later i should have put it on a long charge straight out the box before even turning it on!... we live and learn, with that said i do find it hard to accept this would create such a scenario that cannot be solved, i tried resetting but it's the same, the battery icon comes up with the green bar animation on it but 5% it remains, when i take the plug out it turns off which is not surprising at 5%... just hope the replacement works... probably have a load of dead pixels!..
There are electronics built into these type of batteries and it is essential that the battery power does not fall too low before you attempt to re-charge otherwise you can experience the symptoms you describe. Not everyone will necessarily agree with me on this but a good practice is not to use the tablet without a power source (charger or usb)when the low battery drops to around 18%-or lower.
( I certainly wouldn't allow mine to drop below 10% at the very lowest.)
and then if convenient carry out a mains unit re-charge to a 100% without interruption.
It is impossible to guess if this is the case with your tablet that may respond if you are very patient or if there is a break in the charging circuit, although you say you do see the animated charging icon. Personally I would try giving it another 24 hours on the mains charger and if this does not kick the battery back into cycle then you will unfortunately have to send the tablet back as faulty.
