Sounds like quite a good solution to extending your roaming-time ablities without spending a fortune.
I might think about getting one of these myself.

Has anyone tried the car cigarrette lighter type usb converter for getting extra power.
A friend of mine bought one from Liddles but I haven't looked yet.
So long as they are well made they should provide hours and hours of power, especially if you go camping.

I just bought this 5000 mAH twin usb output, 1 @500 mAh and the other at 1,000 mAh for less than £20.00 including postage which seems reasonable.
It's not as big as those of you who went for the 7500 mAh but 5000 mAh will still more than double my battery life on my Excel and probably still charge my mobile phone as well. http://tinyurl.com/cxtgyjh

I just invested in a second battery, just to make sure all the gadgets have enough juice whilst on holiday :D This one was a tad more expensive the the first, but boasts 1200mAh. Not sure I quite agree with that assertion, but it does manage the full 2.1 amps output, meaning a much faster charge rate

It actually manages to increase the battery level whan the tablet is on and in action, instead of just slowing down the discharge... which is nice :D

Wow... 12,000 mAh is a terrific storage -Like you I found that my humble 5,000 mAh charged my Excel whilst I was watching videos with my feet up all day. The max output on mine is only 1.00 amp though. This gives me a total Scroll Excel use of about 8 hours now. I charged my Nokia phone and my Kodak camera using the pack and it still showed 3 bars. I am very happy with mine so you must be over the moon with yours at 12,000mAh how much did it cost if you don't mind me asking - and where from?

Beware of numbers - this little unit isn't going to deliver 12A for 1 hour though it might manage 1A for 12 hours. The reality will be somewhere in between. When I worked with BIG batteries the norm was to quote the ampere hour capacity based on the 8 hour discharge rate.

Interestingly I note that the Extreme was supposed to have a 7800mAh battery and the Elite claims 5000 mAh although the instruction book says its 7800. I'll bet the batteries are identical, only the descriptions have been changed to confuse the innocent.

My Excel manual states 3,400 mAh battery but in fact (it has been opened up to see) the battery inside is labelled 3,600 mAh and on Storage Options Web pages they quote 4,200mAh - if and when it fails I might see whats on the market to replace it - so long as it physically fits.

It cost about £25.00 including postage from flea bay (Hong Kong origin). It is quite a bit bigger than the 5000mAh battery (I would say, about a 1/4 the size again of an iphone) but not too heavy. It certainly does charge at a decent rate for a portable battery, but probaly only has about four or five hours of juice @ the full 2.1 amps (there is a second port @ 1 amp). I'm not under any great illusion about the true mAh figures, as long as it gives a decent charge. And so far, so good
