Awesome - just my replacement Extreme from Ebuyer and the first thing I did after charging it was CWM and this CM9 rom. Fingers crossed that it passes the Wife Approval Factor, otherwise I'm going to have to flog it and buy an iPad (ick).

Hi,
I'm having probs with the lastest CM9 update.

I tried to upgrade my CM9 to the latest one that came out the other day. I used the Update app to download the new ROM zip file, & then Clockwork mod recovery to install as zip. Restarted the tab and the touch screen didnt respond so went back into clockwork mod and reinstalled the compatibility patch I'd used with the previous CM9 (my first). This time when I rebooted it didnt manage to get past the CM9 boot animation screen. Well I gave it 10 mins before I killed it.
Perhaps a full factory reset would have helped but id like to avoid doing that if possible so that I dont have to spend hours reinstalling my apps. Titanium helps but its still takes ages as you have to confirm installation of every app.

Luckily I did a backup of the previous CM9, so ive reinstalled that successfully for now.

Any ideas what I was doing wrong? has anyone managed to install the latest update without a full reset?

Cheers all

Hi Stu,

I've loaded various CM9s but not the latest as I switched to AOKP instead, the 15th June version of CM9 was very good.

I've never done a factory reset. I just clear the cache and the Dalvick cache.

I'd check you are using the latest compatibility zip, I use the 907C version.

I always reboot at least three times if I have a problem and this has always worked for me.

Best of luck.

Barry.

you should have downloaded & installed the latest comaptibiliy patch that comes in the updatme app
the kernel has been changed on the latest release so the old patch will not work

you only need to reset cach+dalvik cache, intstall the latest cm9,install the LATEST compatibility patch & you will be good to go m8 - all your installed apps will be unaffected

Now working after using the updated compatibility file though it appears to be the same version. Perhaps it was because I installed both at once this time. Gapps also required as Gmail disappeared.

Thanks again

I've found when i've downloaded anything from the update me app for CM9 it saves it on the main root of the drive if that's the right terminology??? like what would be the c:\ of your PC. I only know because i move it to the clockworkmod folder so i can remember where i left it plus i have a bit of OCD where storing files are lol i hate random file saves :ugeek:

Cheers Stu, sorry forgot to update.

I found out where the file downloaded to, it was one level above where i expectednit to be...doh.

Loaded latest version of CM9 and all is great. :D

Hey Kevin,

Glad you finaly found it lol I've reverted back to my ol' favorite CM9 from using AOKP. There was no rhyme or reason really except i think CM9 feels more stable and i didn't really need 5 gazillion options to tweak in the set up menu's :?

Not tried AOKP, as CM9 seems stable (well apart from he odd tablet hang) cant see the point. Also a pink uncorn seems worse than a hot air balloon
