When you have CM9 installed and set up your WiFi, you can download the Stock Camera Module, the Allwinner File Explorer and Allwinner Gallery via Update Me...

Regards,

Apologies if I'm being a bit of a div but I can't find the camera app in the Update Me files. The front camera seems to be working but when I want to switch to the rear one, it just mirrors the front one. Can anyone confirm if this download still exist please and if so where is it and what's it called?

Also, I did "apparently" download the Skype app amongst others in the Update Me files but when I search the folder (I think it's something like \system\apps) it's empty or not there!

I don't know if I can choose where to download it to and I'm using Astro File Manager where I've set it to show hidden files if that would make a difference anyway.

I'm using the latest cm9_nightly_20120624 ROM.

Thanks and hope you can help.

So I got home, backed up my tablet and installed the latest and greatest CM9 version 07-11 with the gapp file and finaly the compatibilty zip file 907C 1.2 It all went smoothly and at present can report no issues or drop in performance. All Apps seem to be working as they were with no drop offs in IPlayer or any of my installed games. I did have to re-install Youtube but that was no biggie to be honest and it still works fine. The only loss was the in bar volume control which I like but the toggle button on the tablet still work fine :)

So to summerise I'm not sure what the new Kernel or updated CM9 souces bought to the table but if Troy took the trouble to release it then I'd be rude not to try out his new handy work lol

Yup a great upgrade as usual by Christian.

With the CPU cranked up to 1200 I got a Quadrant score of 2189 the highest I've seen so far.

I too miss the volume buttons.

CM9 is definitely faster/smoother than AOKP at the moment.

Hi folks.. a quick noob question if you don't mind. After a lot of reading this forum and others I've managed to get my old ROM backed up and CM9 installed on my Scroll Extreme (cm9_nightly_20120624 and 907c_compatibility_1.1.0) - it all works fine and I'm chuffed to bits with it :-) It's such an improvement on the stock ROM. I've also managed to get CM7 on my old HTC Desire and I'm building up to taking the plunge on my beloved SGS2.

My question is a general one about finding future CM9 nightly updates and the right compatibility files. I've spent hours trawling through forum.cyanogenmod.com and just can't see the wood for the trees. How specific to certain devices are the various CM9 nightly files? Am I looking only for CM9 files for the Allwinner A8 or is there a single CM9 ROM and the device specific stuff is all in the compatibility file? Most of all how do I find them! Similarly how do you track down and find the correct CWM recovery for your device.

Thanks in advance for any pointers.

Thanks for that link stubaldock, that's really helpful. OK, all is becoming clearer!

So correct me if I'm wrong but:
Conclusion 1.. There's no point looking on the Cyanogen website, we need 3rd party support for our device - presumably because it's not one that's officially supported?

Conclusion 2.. We have a lot to be grateful to Christian Troy for!

PS - the link isn't quite right but not rocket science to work out. For anyone else passing by:

Christian Troy's Android file stash for various Allwinner A10 devices (907c is closest to our device):

CM9 nightlies:
http://www.androidfilehost.com/main/All ... troy/roms/

1.2 Compatibility files:
http://www.androidfilehost.com/main/All ... isc/1.2.x/

Now to keep an eye out for anything vaguely resembling Jelly Bean for our device :-)

Oh lol :? thanks for picking that up for me :D Agreed that Mr Troy certainly has made a massive difference to the original stock firmware for a huge number of tablets, I trawl the slatedroid forums for CM9 and AOKP daily just to find out whats going on with bugs and fixes.
