Hi Kwakpilot0

kwakpilot0 wrote:Have you tried using opera mobile set to tablet user agent? iplayer works fine for me on that, I think it's the default setting. I've also removed advanced task manager which seemed to get 5 on demand working in opera mobile as well. I'm sure I read somewhere that it causes a few issues without much in the way of advantages. wish I could remember where I'd read it! itv player also seems to run fine on my extreme as well on 0.8

Anyway i hope you have some luck minijay!

thanks for the advise ill give it a try.. is this just a case of downloading opera from the store or is it something more specific i dont think i have ever seen anything like this up till now ??

sorry if its a dumb question

thanks again

just tried the opera mobile browser with the user set to tablet... still no joy..

at best i get 50 seconds before it starts to freeze up and jolt around.

i had to install flash 11 as i dont believe there is anyway round this...

anyone else have any ideas...

this is a fresh install... formated cleared cache and davlik installed 4.0.4 beta 8, went into play and downloaded opera mobile, iplayer and then flash 11 hasnt made any difference, have i missed something.

thanks

Are you sure it is not just a slow internet connection.

:D i wish that was the case we have a 200mb line

i have just found and read a different post that says using the stock browser with the user agent turned to honeycomb xoom helped... i have just tried this and yes it does. ive got past the point where it has been freezing all this time... ill need to do some more testing but it appears we may be moving forward...

not sure when the next updated beta will be out but it may be worth seing if the browser can use the honeycomb setting by default...

is there any way to downgrade the flash so we use an older version with ics or does it have to have 11 ?

thanks

I am getting the same minijay - not found any way of making it any better yet. Annoying thing is it works quite nicely on the wifes 7" Scroll Excel equivalent.

I have not seen a ROM that works on the extreme myself yet that has played iplayer perfectly. As mentioned in another thread I think its a general issue with the Allwinner A10 chipset + ICS + Flash that effects this device in particular. But, the 7" has pretty much the same hardware so I cant explain why that works ok? Can anyone else?

I am hoping it will be improved with a future Rom or Adobe Flash update - not returning mine.

It's a software issue. ICS was riddled with problems when it came out and Xoom/Transformer owners found many of the same issues but they have no mostly been fixed. I think I mentioned before that I have tried a ROM out that works perfectly with iPlayer. I can't test the Sky app as I don't have Sky/don't want it.

With each beta ROM suggsy brings more features and greater stability.
