well i kinda think that depends if some rom developers find an interest in it, if they do would be nice.

If anyone was feeling brave they could try here for roms, the G9 and the extreme appear to be the same so the G9 (and also the Momo Bird) firmware may work on the extreme.

I must stress this could be very risky until someone can validate that it works (don't have an extreme myself but tempted).

Hmm honeymoon period has now come to an end.

Like an earlier post, first impressions were very good. And I still believe you get a lot of bang for your buck. However, I guess this was a case of trying to test as many things as possible.

Now I'm deeper diving and trying to get the most out of the tablet, I am noticing a few more snags.

I'm not at the point of returning, but getting close.

The whirring/buzzing noise now seems to have manifested its way out of the keyboard and have noticed it with other transactions as a user previously reported.

Tried to sit down and, for my sins, watch the apprentice and got about 8 mins in when it became impossible.

I've noticed a bit of lag now and again when typing.

And getting some app freezes with the browsers.

I wanted to check whether @awilson if you have managed to watch streaming for a good amount of time (i.e. 30mins/1hour). I know we have the same build so if you are watching succesfully, I wouldn't mind trying to replicate your browser configuration.

Other reported things, which I believe mine is ok is only a couple of pixels down and I think battery charge & discharge is ok.

Naturally, I'm reluctant to send mine back if there are some workarounds (and would really hate to receive a replacement, which is someone elses return).

Any thoughts/Comments?

Cheers

Interested to know if people are powering off their tab, or just putting to sleep?

I find that if I power the tab off and back on again it seems to take a while for it to settle. Its like to needs to get things in order before its more usable.

Once its been on sleep for a while things seem to improve on wake up.

@ricky712 MMmmmmm first time tonight I have tried Iplayer for more than a few mins... plays fine then stutters/freezes 10mins in (repeatedly)... thought this might be an ICS issue, however my ICS 4.0.2 Galaxy Nexus phone has no issue with Iplayer via browser/flash.. I upgraded flash from 11.1.115.6 to 11.1.115.7 on the extreme, still the same issue... I guess the device was never marketed to support Iplayer, so a bonus if this issue can be resolved somehow... From what I read flash based video is to be phased out, of course this does not help in the now...

In all honesty, Its probably a kernel issue, and with a 1.2ghz processor down-clocked to 1ghz is not going to help you guys out either.

The keyboard lag I think, from reading around, is an Android issue in general. It's probably fixed in the 4.0.4 update.

Can other users please try this out and tell us how they got on.

I'm looking for a tablet, preferably 10", that I'd mainly use for surfing and streaming. But if the streaming is laggy that's a big no-no.

As I said before, techie I am not so please forgive me.

suggsy89 if this is the case, how come my excel with the 1GHz processor streams iPlayer fine?

And on another note, how come the YouTubes and certain other streaming websites appear to be fine?
