Thought I'd give Recovery manager a go anyway... as I was getting no where.

So ubplugged and switched off tab.

Held down +Vol and Power On and it started Revovery manager...

So chose to Backup, and its doing something.....

A step forward maybe... Not out of the woods yet, as I still cant get the PC to see the SC cards on the Tab, so may have to use my external card reader for that... but still moving forward.

Thanks for the help tonight... Going to call it a night on a high... :D

once its done the backup use a es file explorer to look in mnt/extsd/clockworkmod/backups
you should see a file in there 18.05.12.2206 or some thing like that that is you nandroid backup of excactly how your tablet is today make a copy of that and put it on you pc safe you can rename it to something memorable but no-gapps-in.the_filename 1st_extreme_backup or whatever
nice one glad its sorted

Just to update........ I've flashed suggsy89's modded fw and it's all running fine (touching wood) I have complete sympathy for everyone who is having issues but I was fortunate that pdanet added the drivers I needed to see the tablet :) its all pretty stable and as smooth as you like to operate.

Flashing using CWM on the Scroll Extreme
1) Connect the USB cable to your Extreme
2) Select 'File Storage Mode' on your tablet
3) Copy one of the .zip files to your devices internal memory card (or external)
4) Turn off your Extreme
5) HOLD DOWN the left volume key + power button for around 10 seconds, it will then boot up into CWM
6) (Volume keys = up/down, back = back and power = select) Select 'Factory reset/format'
7) Once that is completed you can choose the option to select a ROM and follow the on screen instructions.

Ok, copy ZIP file to sd card. Format and selecta ROM, etc...

Do yiu have unpack the ZIP file, or do you select the ZIP file ?

Would like to understand before I go dwn this path of no return.

Cheers

now make a CWM backup of that once you get some apps and stuff on it sooner rather than later so if you put a rogue app on or mess something you can restore bacl to a good version of 4.0.4
