C Troy says it is near completion, that's the bit that worries me slightly, as it implies that's it, job done. If that is the case, I will have to go back to CM9."

I have taken the plunge and installed the latest jellybean rom and I too find it is flakey. One thing I have noticed is that Titanium Backup shows my System Rom is 264MB and only 4kb is left after installing rom+gapps+compat.Would this affect stability?

I tried installing just the rom+compat and this leaves about 34Mb free.I then downloaded Google Play app from net but cannot get it to run. Anyone had any success with this? If we need to increase the size of the System Rom partition to 300+MB (as recommended by C.Troy) does anyone know how to do this?

Regards.

You can only increase the size of the system partition buy using a livesuit firmware that has a bigger system partion size or by modifing a livesuit firmware image to increase the system partion, but then obviously you would need to decrease say the internal storage partion to account for the extra space used by the system...

I know my post may have read as a moan, it wasn't...

We have to remember at all times... Its as you say "how much time has available to do all this work free". He (like Suggsey who started the ball rolling on this site) isn't being paid to do this, he is doing it off his own back. Without dedicated individuals like C. Troy and Suggsey, we'd still be playing with the Stock ROM and in turn would have confined the Extreme to the dark recesses of your cupboards. So there was no criticism intended in my post.

If we get further builds then, they are bonuses. If not, then we (I'll) go back to CM9, but not forgetting he did that in his own time as well.

Still a far improvement over the Stock ROM.

With every updated release there will always be improvments and maybe more bugs but im sure Christian will continue to improve the rom and iron out the kinks :)

It's weird how peoples individual flashes produce different anomalies, mine for example flashed well after getting the sequence right, i then downloaded Titanium backup and restored all of my previous apps which worked fine. The only thing i've found is that MX Player won't play .avi files in HW mode???? I will try a new copy of a movie copied over after the JB rom install to see if that changes things? Still plays them fine in SW mode tho..... I also can't find a copy of the BBC Iplayer app lol I used to have it somewhere :)

As far as the space issue I seem to have all of the internal memory free (apart from the system stuff) with no partition so have bags of room... the quote below is from CT himself.

Because I've removed the move 2 SD thing (since many devices have at least 1 gig of data space, which is enough for roughly 250 apps) and if you had stuff installed in the SD the app won't work because there's missing stuff.

Who wanna move stuff to SD has to repartition the real microsd from cwm's advancedb menu to dedicate some sd-ext space, then install link2sd from store.

Yep, saw that statement from Christian...

Not sure I agree with it though...

I dont think I can get 250 apps into 1Gb, no way near. And as for link2SD, that is one of the Apps that doesnt work on the new build.

But we'll see how we go...

Have asked this before and dont believe I've seen an answer (or maybe didnt understand it, if I did), but as Suggsey seems to be looking at this thread, I'll ask again...

Is there anyway of "joining" the external SD card to the internal memory, so that it increases the overall usable free space. I believe this can ve done on Linux computers, so that you can mount several physical disks so the O/S sees it as one file store. Just wondered if this can be done on Android, so the O/S sees one file store, without worrying what the makeup of the physical drives are.

(Sorry for hi-jacking the thread, just thought if it could be done, it would sort out the SD card issue on JB, as I wouldnt need it if I had 16GB of usable memory, instead of 8Gb internal and 8Gb external.)

Well I'm now up to 10 apps which wont run, including Skype, Opera, Stickman Golf, Stick Cricket, Google Search....the list increases every app I try to re-download.

On top of that Chrome has just started hanging and BBC iPlayer is very eratic?

Dont want to go back to CM9, as like the feel of CM10, but it isnt very stable in m opinion. :(

Hi Kevin

not sure if this will help but CT just posted this......

You can edit framework-res.apk (Res/XML/storage_list.XML and put emulated=false)

how you do it and with what editor i don't know :(
