Installed update for SD card, and picked up my apps. Apps that were failing are now working again, so assume that even though I reinstalled those apps on the internal memory, they must of still had links to the SD card, as they work.

Going to run with CM10 again now and see where it goes.

Definitively a better experience. Just hope it proves to be stable.

Kevin

Dont watch much video on mine, but just tried BBC iPlayer and it seemed ok. Only let it plan a few minutes but was watchable.

Worth a try, you can always go back.

I've had a play on it this evening and used ITV player and it worked fine, i did have to run the PC transfer fix again but that may be because i messed up the install sequence a bit :) so in general it now does everything i bought it for originally only with a lot more shizzle.

The one thing that this unfinished journey is teaching me is that without the likes of Suggsy and CT and the guys over at XDA ( and numerous others) we'd still be wondering why we forked out circa £200 for a shiny table mat....... ;)

Well at the moment I am pretty happy with CM10.

I do not have the confidence or know how yet to use livesuite to try and increase the size of my system rom partition, as suggested by Suggsy, but I am still researching and learning.

So after fiddling around with link2sd to make some space on my system rom partition, and managing to get USB sticks working by using Stickmount app from Google store, I finally have a stable and very usuable tablet, and I can download apps from the Play Store,

I am looking forward to the next release by Christian, and am so grateful to him and Suggsy for their efforts in giving us a usuable tablet.

Regards.

Seems to be very good, but need some longer to find out what works and what doesn't. At the moment I know Google Search crashes, but most other things work fine. Not sure about h/w compliance like usb drives etc, as not tested them yet, but I believe there is an issue with linking to a computer, but haven't tried that.

hey Suggsy, Nice to see you're back and willing to take on CM10 :)

From CT's initial release he has done well to get JB up to a standard that we can use as a 'generic rom' and as Kevin says it works well to a point and now some cedar libraries have been released for the Allwinner it has made the world of difference but for me the issues are:

CT say's we have to load Rom/Gapps and compatibility in that order. That leaves me with non working touchscreen but if i load Rom/Compatibility and then Gapps after a re-boot it works fine. But according to CT thats wrong????

There are issues of CM10 needing a starting partition of 300mb + which is causing problems accross the A10 tablet community with requests for a standard dummy rom to give a larger than needed partition.

There are some problems with playing movies under Hardware mode, seems to affect some file types and not others.

As Kev states the USB to PC connection has been an issue but a work around is available in the form of some script entered in to the terminal emulator, it works well but is just a pain to do lol.

CT has just added the SD partition back in as some tablets and Apps were'nt working well in that config.

Camera's are hit and miss but my front one works as it should (tablet in wallet so can't be arsed to try back one)

HDMI sound works with some TE script much like the PC one above but requires a re-boot when sound is needed again on the tablet.

Most of my things attach ok to USB and still work, keyboard, PC etc..... i don't own a BT dongle so haven't tried that out.

This is as much as i can think of at the moment..... unfortunately I am a little jaded with spending most of the afternoon at the local pub  CT's github repository aparently holds everything needed to understand whats happened with JB.

On the whole it runs smoothly with the config options of AOKP, battery life is there or there abouts with the last rom but i must say i do like the whole JB bling bling :P

I will keep on checking back with slatedroid and CT's progress but should you need any help in house ;) just let me know lol keep it SO all the way............

Well I have managed to get livesuit working at last and have installed the original stock rom as an experiment. The balloon says Hi.
I now need a dummy rom to increase my system partition size. Any one have any ideas? or is it possible to make your own or use one from a different manufacturer?

Regards.

i'm not sure on this one but as it is only setting a partition size surely any allwinner rom would suffice as it will be formatted over anyway........ but today i wanted to check something out so i factory reset the tablet, installed Rom/Gapps/Comp in that order = no touchscreen (again) so i reformatted the tablet and installed Rom/Comp/Gapps = complete success.... Why CT insists it has to be his way i'm not sure but anyway i digress 8-)

What i found is that after you run the format and install the Rom it leaves you with the entire internal SD card (minus the initial CM10 suite) at your disposal, on mine that was @ 7gb i then set it up and installed the Move 2 internal SD zip so now i have two partitions SD0 at 1.15gb and SD1 at 5.8gb (the missing 1 gb is probably system files and not measured)

I have not seen any errors due to memory shortage or anything like some people are reporting so good luck finkle and i hope you get yours up and running soon.
