@cantisque and others with this slow browser issue - Some example sites please, like @Topman has pointed out.

Also I can check them on the Excel and 1st gen tabs for comparison (sorry no Extreme) Saying that the Excel has the same processor as the Extreme, just slightly under-clocked on the Excel.

Well unless it changed recently, iPads don't support Flash at all anyway and a lot of lower-end Android devices exclude Flash altogether as well. It wasn't that long ago that Blackberry were focusing their entire tablet ad on their device being able to do it.
But yeah, can't really try anything until I get mine back but I found Newgrounds to be slow to use, even when not viewing a video. I was fairly sure that the more scripts are run on a page, the more system resources are used which has an impact on performance, is this not correct?

If you try Newgrounds, it was freezing for me when moving from page to page but only for a short while. How does the desktop-based version of iPlayer handle when playing an episode from start to finish on the Excel with the stock browser? If it works better, maybe the Flash version is different?

I'm not having any issues with general web browsing or YouTube. just tried newgrounds and I cant even begin to describe the carnage; it looked like an HTML abortion.

Hi guys new to the forum.. recently returned my Extreme due to crack near a screw head from being dropped when they delivered it and a horrible buzzing HDD like sound when using the keyboard or using certain if not most app's any who I noticed you are all trying to figure out a list of site's that support and do not go to well with the extreme thought I would add it's also down to the site admin's and creators to add support for multi platform use some website's are developed with the mobile user in mind for example youtube! ^^ but I did notice that opera mobile was the quickest by far IMO"" I did test out dolphin browser HD and Mini both worked well but also had the old browser not responding what has annoyed me mostly is I found just trying to use the default browser sometime's failed on me and on a few occasions didn't load at all.. I didn't try the Itv player website but i did DL the app and it worked perfectly for me my misses watched all her soaps on it without issues but then i did notice youtube struggling to load HQ videos and if you were to pause the video it would take a long time to play again..

tested..

Youtube = ok
BBC player = not supported
BBC player website = very sluggish " browser not responding "
MSN HOTMAIL = perfect
FACEBOOK = PERFECT " even on desktop version "
GSM arena = jittery but works pretty well
GAME website = perfect
MEN = decent
wikipedia = perfect
addicting games = jittery

Also I noticed it supports USB controllers for emulators ;) best feature by far good old N64 days made better ^^
when i get my new extreme I will continue testing and hopefully get a decent video review posted on Youtube with as much detail as possible for you guys ....

Newgrounds on the Excel, it is slow and freezes at times, still surfable - however even on a decent spec pc that site is not great on loading times.

iPlayer on Excel (desktop version) is has a good speed when loading, browsing and video playback, apart from the lip-sync issue (that is akin to the Excel tho') Flash version is 10.3.185

I don't think Newgrounds was working at all last night, but normally it would render the pages fine on the stock browser, it would just struggle doing so.

My replacement comes back today, hopefully with no issues :). I did try a wireless controller when I had my first one but it didn't work. Unfortunately all my controllers are wireless :(.

Only wish S.O. would post firmware updates 4.0.4. might fix some of the stability issues. On a different note I have no issues steaming HD video on my Extreme tab.

Had my Extreme for around three weeks now and have experienced both highs and lows with this tablet. I also own a Scroll Excel (title of which has now passed to my wife) which was neat and good value for the money although Android 2.3 seemed to be a little dated.

The build of my Extreme is 03F2-P1-H2-M01-1796.20120321 and when I first powered it up I was very impressed with it. I was keen to configure it with with all the apps I had run on the Excel and set up my Gmail accounts to sync. However I was disappointed to find that there was not an BBC Iplayer app for ICS. I was told that the alternative or 'workaround' was to run the ICS browser set in Android/Desktop mode. This did indeed load and run Iplayer but consistently after just a minute or so it got the Audio/Video 'jitters' which was really annoying. In desperation I trawled this forum taking note of all the excellent content regarding my problems and how I may resolve them. This lead me to install apps such as Go Launcher Ex then Go Launcher HD (excellent front ends). I even uninstalled the resident ICS apps killer free program as advised. I then went on to trying a number of browsers - Google Chrome Beta, Opera Mini, Opera Mobile, Mozilla Firefox and lastly a couple of Dolphin iterations.
Anyway to cut a long story short - during all this I noticed that nothing really overcame the Iplayer probem - some browsers were slicker than others and some exhibited the well published 'keyboard lag'. Overall the whole tablet was extremely sluggish even after killing running apps.
I was now beginning to believe that my migration from the Excel to the Extreme was a retrograde one!
So - I decided to restore factory settings and start from scratch.
Well - the result was reassuring as everything in its basic form ran very well - even the ICS browser was slick and without keyboard lag. With renewed enthusiasm I tried running Iplayer again selecting Android/Desktop mode mode.
Alas same jitters as before. Came back to the forum and found that someone else suggested that setting the browser to Xoom mode worked. I did this and Iplayer is now very acceptable. I have not installed any third party apps and am (for the moment at least) sticking to those apps and widgets supplied with ICS.

I hope this may have helped others that may have also become disenchanted with the performance of their Extreme. The factory reset and browser set up may work for you also.
Always said that I would never buy a tablet!

It's nothing to do with the performance of the Extreme it's all down to flash being unstable on ICS even on the NEXUS flash had stability issue's it's only recent Flash had an update for ics via google play which I have installed also Firmware update's from Storage options are highly unlikely " reason being ".. if they start dishing out Firmware update's for example 4.0.5 then releasing another tablet with newer OS on board in their eye's will potentially become unnoticed as people will stick with what they have waiting on the updates " money is their goal " .. if we flood them with requests we could sway their minds guys so If like me you also want to see a nice firmware update for the Scroll Extreme email storage options and ask politely for it if for example they have sold 1000 Scroll extreme's.. and atleast 300 - 400 + email asking them we may get their attention!! ^^ Remember they already have the scroll ELITE on it's way they are just mass marketing.
