Do you know if the new Scroll extreme will have a GPS tracker?

Do you know if the new Scroll extreme will be able to function with the barcode scanner application?

Very interested at the price, but most Chinese type devices have these functions missing, I have an Asus transformer prime & its not worth its £499 money for what it can do.

Thanks for your help good luck with the new product. 8-)

Hi & welcome to the forum,

Do you know if the new Scroll extreme will have a GPS tracker?

I could be wrong, but I doubt it will have one.

Do you know if the new Scroll extreme will be able to function with the barcode scanner application?

Should do with the right app, as the Extreme has a rear camera.

That is a lot for a tablet, I have heard mix reviews on it.

Thanks for your help good luck with the new product.

Just for you info. this forum is independent and not run or owned by Storage Options.

Hope you get an Extreme, not long now till ebuyer start shipping them, I am hoping to get my hands on one too.

Thanks for your quick & friendly reply.

The Prime arrived from Amazon yesterday but its wifi & GPS signals are terrible for the money so it will be a refund on that 1.
Looking for something else, I figured if I tried the best then the cheaper models can be judged more fairly, I was tempted by the Scroll after the gadget shows review but wanted a 10 inch tab so am looking forward to trying the Extreme.

Hello and welcome
Having used the Excel for a while now and having upgraded to ICS(thanks suggsy89) i really think that the new Extreme Running ICS from out of the box is going to be one heck of a tablet. not shure if it has GPS as i havent seen one, but it will give the IPAd a good run for its money. looks like the battery life is going to be pretty good too.

To confirm, the Extreme does NOT have a GPS Tracker.

Hi,
I think the GPS tracking is dependent on the 3G hardware in the iPad and it is not available in the non 3G models. The Extreme does not have built in 3G so it will not work. Just the home location on gmaps will be shown according to the home address post code saved in google account information. However there maybe a way to get full GPS tracking working with a 3G USB dongle

A phone signal can be used to speed up getting a gps lock but it is not required. The extreme has no gps hardware so it will never work. You can tether the extreme to a phone with gps though and use the phones gps on the extreme.

I have several external drives and all work. The thing is, if it is usb1 it will connect and work, if usb2 it needs a power supply to the drive other than the data connection.

This is often the case with some laptops/desktops/pads etc and is not a particular fault of the Extreme.
