Dead Extreme

Received my first tablet the other day, initial impressions were good but then I started to noticed a few bugs. The first thing is when I selected an icon it would go back to the home screen a few seconds later. The Wifi set up page would overlay the home screen and it would then go black with the android name as if re-booting.

Tried again this morning and now it will not get past the balloon page and only the power button will work.

Logged onto Ebuyer this morning to send back and get a replacement only to find I have to call their technical support team who are not back in until Tuesday. What a pain as the plan was to get this before the Bank Holiday, shouldnt have bothered now!

How annoying!

Don't you just hate it when you have to spend ages with tech support convincing then there really is a hardware fault, and it's not just that you can't figure out how to switch it on!

Agreed. I am hoping, but doubtful, that Ebuyer will undertake a swap-out service like Amazon does with the Kindle. However I suspect that I will need to send it back for a full valuation and then wait another few days before the replacement arrvies.

Looks like I'm gardening this weekend instead of downloading apps! :(

Same with my Extreme, although I was able to get it sent back yesterday. The call to them is pointless, all they do is ask what's wrong (which you already specified on the site!) and send you the link to book the courier.

And yes, they will test it before sending out another (with 3-5 day delivery).

Bank Holiday over, called Tech Support asked no questions agreed for it to be returned, pick up tomorrow. Now just have to wait for the replacement.

Didn't do the gardening as it rained. All in all a not a good Bank Holiday. :(

Just had an Email from them to say they received mine. They reckon it will take 3-5 days for a technician to look at it -_-

My 3rd Extreme is being delivered tomorrow.

The 1st one was on for 10 minutes then died, the 2nd booted ok but would then reboot at random intervals, wifi would drop and apps would stop working all at regular but random intervals.

I was begining to think it was me 'till I saw you guys are having issues also. Hopefully, 3rd time will be the charm and this next one will work...

Incidentally, Ebuyer have been most helpfull but if they are getting a few returns like this they probably realise there is an issue beyond user innability.
