"Encrypt Tablet"

So the mums tablet arrived and she is "bonding" with it well.
Her work email is via exchange and I've been trying to set it up in the default Mail app. It seems to work and then we get as far as accepting the mail security policy. We accept this and it then wants to Encrypt the tablet.

Now according to google this should take about an hour needs full battery and 100% charge - done this.
When you click encrypt, it asks you to confirm then switches to a full screen wireframe android encryption picture (android robot with cog/gear stuff half way down his body).
In videos online this only appears for a second then you get a progress bar - however this just stays on the screen and does nothing. You can get off this screen by clicking the back button a few times.

Has anybody else had this experience or had any success?

Try maildroid.

It has exchange server funtionality and just needs configuring depending on how mums exchange admin have set it up.

Must admit that setting up email with my corporate exchange account was very easy. Took about 2 mins and all downloaded.

Not a bad email client either.
