This is my first post so hi everyone
Sadly though I'm posting because the screen on my sons Extreme has cracked.
Is it possible to buy a replacement screen for these tablets yet?
Thanks for any advice
Steve

Hi & welcome,
Sorry to hear that, no replacement screens are sold afaik - Maybe you might find a 2nd hand extreme on eBay that's broken but has a good screen (would be rare at the mo') - or is there any chance you could return it under warrenty?

Another possible idea is maybe look at similar tablets to see if you can get screens for those. Maplin do an extreme clone and there are probably loads more out there.
Might widen the scope somewhat.

i dropped mine today and cracked the screen. I can say that it wasnt from that much of a height either so I recommend you are all VERY careful with yours.
Wondering if this is the correct screen replacement for it as it has the camera hole in the same position as the scroll extreme

be careful buying a replacement,on some of the clones the screen is set upside down,so the ribbon cable connector is in the wrong place to plug into the extreme motherboard.
I suggest you remove your broken screen, look exactly where the connection is ,then email the seller and ask him to send you a picture of the rear of the screen he is selling.make sure they match up.
you will get a screen from a Chinese/Hong Kong seller no problem but make sure its the right one!

anyone know how the screen could be taken off? took the two screws off the side and the screen was still just stuck there, even after attempting to use a suction pad to pull on it. I bet the hair dryer technique is required to loosen the glue or double sided tape but dont fancy it seeing as i dont want to fry anything.

I want to clean inside my screen Mitre as there is a lot of dust and one blot of something right in the middle.
I know FF had this one apart before I got it but I am uncertain as it is a capacitive - is there actually a seperate piece of glass on top or is this literally the capacitive screen? Don't know if you or any one else can help with an answer.

there is a seperate peice of glass the digitiser is bihind that and it is in this cavity taht dust can acumilate if the silicone seal is broken or not fully sealed tha actual glass is prob less than 1milimetre so very fragile
edit: and if you are not in a completly dust free environment it may look worse after you touch it
