Guidance sought on Custom ROM

Given Storage Devices dont intend to support ROM updates I would appreciate some guidance on moving to a custom ROM

I am a complete novice so am looking for detailed instructions on installing a Custom ROM, which someone might add to the tutorial section.

My main aim is to update only when significant functionality or performance improvement are available.

The problem I have is knowing what functionality or performance improvement have already been addressed.

Can someone provide a summary of compatible ROM's available with the key additions listed?

Would any of them address GPS or Bluetooth functionality?

Regards

Piers, I have looked at both of those links and various others but they only wet the appetite, hence my post for a more comprehensive explanation.

Hopefully someone will pull this all together for the benefit of those like me that need hand held support.

But thanks for you prompt response

The best thing you can do is to install a ROM and see how it works with your tablet. There is no real consistency when the manufacturer builds these devices, so a ROM that works on one tablet may be terrible on another one.

Your first step is to install CWM. There is a guide in the sticky section.
