[Browser/Facebook/etc] has stopped responding. Wait/Close

Postby davetibbs » July 2nd, 2012, 11:45 pm

If I had £1 for every time I've had the above message, I'd be able to buy another few Scroll Extremes. It goes through periods of being fine, and then, for no reason whatsoever, apps will just start hanging, making browsing etc pretty much impossible.

What's going on? This tablet is supposed to be powerful! Please, please, PLEASE can someone save me from turning batsh1t-insane and tell me

a) If it's supposed to be like this
b) What's causing it
c) How I can fix it and stop it happening again

Minimal third party apps have been installed (e.g. Facebook, Ebay, Twitter) and none that I could see would cause an issue.

Has anyone else had this? It's honestly driving me up the wall.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Firstly are you on stock rom because I rarely get those errors on the cm9 rom. Although I've had similar issues except mine seem worse. I have cm9 rom installed and quite often the tablet will just freeze and will have to do a force shutdown. This is ANNOYING and would love to hear a solution. I have tried setting diff clock speeds but same result :(

and you are alone :)

Yes that happens a lot on the stock ROM, much less on CM9. Its worth the effort to upgrade.

I found that the lower I clock the processor, the less this happens. Currently running at 1004 MHz on Christian Troys CM9 rom and all apps are rock solid. There probably is a minimal performance hit somewhere but I've yet to notice it. Also had massive speed up by ditching flash player and using ad blocking. Dolphin browser in iPad mode is as good as,if not better, than the iPad itself.

I'm still on the stock ROM and I've never had this problem, I do, however use Opera as my browser of choice.

Interesting as I wacked my clock speed up to er ...1152? i do hit issues with the wait popup. I'm also wondering which Governer is best. Currently trying out "Performance" seems a bit quicker, I guess its holds the clock speed up for longer and probably uses more battery as a result
