Extreme is dead

Had the Extreme for I think maybe 6 months and it's died. It did have custom firmware on it, but only CM9, however that means it's out of warranty.

I was using it, put it down and then came back to it later - I pressed the power button and the screen turned on, then off and then that was it. Now when I turn it on all I see is a black screen (I can see the backlight so know it's on) but it doesnt do anything. Tried the reset button - nothing. Tried reset+power - nothing. Tried vol+ + power - nothing. Look's like it's actually dead.

100% the last product I buy from Storage Options ever. This is the fourth item I have owned, 2 are now dead.

Since it's out of warranty I opened it up - WOW, that's terrible craftsmanship right there. I found the orange tape inside which is OK but I also found lots of scratches and cellotape over the motherboard - lololol.

A true waste of £170+£20 for a case that wasnt even made for this tablet.

Are you sure that SO wouldn't honour the warranty if this is a hardware problem ? If it won't even boot how can anyone tell what firmware is on it ?

Mind you, now you have opened it then all bets will be off.

Try reinstalling the software.start the program at the same time holding in the reset button, let the reset button go as the program starts .
I had a similar problem but managed to get it working doing the above , I don't know if it will work for you but its worth a try. :D
