With your hardware set-up as you have described, does the Essential now support Flash?

Supports flash and market out of the box.

Wow, that's an eye opener, perhaps S.O. have been listening to our comments after all.
Before you bricked it (only temporary I hope for you) were you able to find out if the (all-new) Essential suffers from the same streaming-video lip-sync issues that the Excel has?
If it isn't broken then don't try to fix it!

@Piers - You would need to ask Stu (admin) about getting an Scroll Essential subforum added. It's a good idea to have one but only if there are enough active forum members that can offer support for that device, I am not in a situation to support that tablet.

If I can find the screen driver then it should work fine - and yes it does have the same issue. It's also on all of the ePad and other generic Chinese android tablets.

I can confirm what Piers is saying is true, ive been helping him all afternoon, it does seem that they upgraded it at some point. He requested the firmware for the Essential but they sent the Telechips version. Its crazy how the only difference is the resistive screen :s

I might be able to, but would need to get a mini usb adapter first

Make sure you get the O.T.G type, we have a link about some issues some of us had: viewtopic.php?f=21&t=1809&p=17058&hilit=usb+keyboard#p17058

I found a thread over at XDA about someone editing some existing drivers for another device (running GingerB) and getting them to work on ICS. Will keep looking

I don't think there are enough dedicated Essential users out there to have a sub-forum. I added one a while back for about a week and nothing was posted in there. Then I removed it. If more than a few people want an Essentials sub-forum then of course I will add one again. But right now, I don't see many others reply on here asking for it as well.
