Your running 2.3 arnt you? Now the problem we have is THIS is not compatible with Gingerbread because of the different file system so to speak. We cannot just flash over the top due to the differences...
You will need to flash an ICS livesuite image as a base such as the Yarvik one in the first Thread, then try to flash CWM. Then 4.0.4 for Essential.
Hope this helps :)

yes, 2.3.3 to be exact, so flash the yarvik ics livesuit, CWM then 4.0.4 i get that, but my concern is not having a backup of my current firmware incase of issues

Okay, well try this... Its CWM for 2.3 http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4364278/Excel/C ... 0Excel.zip

The only problem here, is that it wont backup the bootloader.. So you would need to do via adb on your PC...

Do this while the device is booted normaly.

Code: Select all
adb shell
dd if=dev/block/nanda of=/sdcard/nanda.img

You could do this for all nand blocks up to "nandi" for a firmware dump.

Open the CWM folder hold "shift" key then "right click" with the mouse.. look for "open a command prompt here"..

Then do these commands...

Code: Select all
adb shell
cat proc/partitions

Post output here...

You should dump the nand blocks first mind you... Before you screw up....

Hey Guys I think you need to look at this: viewtopic.php?f=42&t=2687 3stage has been posting in Two places for the same thing by the looks of it!
If it isn't broken then don't try to fix it!
