Hi

I have the Scroll Essential tablet with 2.3.3 installed and would like to install the new Android 4.0.3 to see what it is like. I have the install files but was just wondering if anyone had tried this ?

Also is there a way to keep the factory restore part of the drive hidden just in case it doesnt work.

Im a bit disapointed with the touch screen. Hopefully 4.0.3 is a bit more quicker with the response.

Thanks in advance

Martyn

Just putting any old install files on a Android tablet - won't work (it's not like Windows) - you need to have a version that is compiled for a specific tablet.

Also you need to have you OWN backup copy of your OS before flashing new versions (and have a recovery like clockworkmod) relying on the recovery partition (as is) to do this alone, is not wise and will not get you back to the scrolls original state.

Thanks for the quick response.

What is the best software/app to use to backup the current OS just in case it doesnt work.

The version I have is for tablet/eeepc

I will test it and see how it goes and will let people know.

Thanks
