Jellybean on Engage

Postby drcarlos » December 27th, 2012, 12:09 pm

Bought two of these for the Kids for Xmas and they aren't half bad for the money and the perform OK. ICS 4.0 was the update that pushed Android beyond iOS for usability (in my opinion) but the hardware struggles just a little and Jellybean 4.1 was the update that gave the Android 4 the smoothness and put less of a strain on the hardware. I was wondering if anyone knew if Storage options were going to bring out an update for 4.1 or 4.2 for devices like the Engage, Elite or Excel. It would certainly add credibility to the brand if they got updates as the hardware would certainly support it.

S.O. don't do updates so you would have to buy a new device with the new Android version you want or hopefully someone in the Android dev community might make a rom for your device - but the latter is not guaranteed.

No chance !!

The words Storage Options and customer service are sadly like two alike poles of a magnet.

No matter how hard you try they will just not come together

Having been a Sony Ericsson PS Phone owner I know this feeling with updates, but that was hardware related, seems like there is no reason for this. The Engage is a good device that could be made better with JB.
Ah well it won't bother me for long as I have Nexus 7 myself but it will make me think twice before buying any more SO products in the future as it did with Sony (as both me and my wife upgraded to another manufacturer).
