Confused and dazed - Ebook !

Postby maddog1967 » June 2nd, 2011, 11:41 am

Hi Im new to the Scroll market. Before this I had a Sony P990i for reading my ebooks, I looked at the collection of tablets and ebook readers on the market and was impressed with this one. I have tried for 2 days to get the installed ebook reader,DNL eBook, to recognise the Epub books i have copied to the internal memory. I can see them in the file , but when i click on to read it, it just goes back to the load screen of DNL. This was a gift from my wife and I dont want it to end up the way the Betamax video, Sony walkman, and Commodore 64 computer went. I looked at the Kindle and the Sony e reader, but on first impressions this looked the best ..... but if I cannot sort this out, Im starting to get second thoughts. PLEASE if anybody can figure out what an 'ol fart is missing then please post the answer .... no rude comments !!!

Welcome to the forum.
If you use the built-in browser and search for fbreaderj you will find that it is a better ereader to use. There is a download link on their webpage.

Employees are like mules. Some you stand in front of and coax them along with a carrot. Some you stand behind and kick them in the arse. The key to management is knowing which mules are which!

I use Laputa. I'm not sure if it's the best, but it works.

Hello to all that posted, .... and thanks for all the help. It worked, I now have my collection of Douglas Adams Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy on my Scroll. As for game emulators i prefer my PC for all of those and my PS3 for anything else. Once again thank you for the help this forum is the best place for help and advice on my new toy. Cheers !!!

I use Overdrive

http://www.overdrive.com/software/omc/

This also works with books stored on sd card, so solving a storage issue. It can also search for ebooks, including at libraries, so more free books...
