Is that the sqlite bit? I got stuck there too. I put the sqlite command onto the scroll so that it would run from an adb shell. I'm sure there's some way to run the command from the PC but it wasn't clear.

Another happy customer!
Just spent a couple of hours doing the fix- all working after a few snags-
1 The emulator wouldnt let me connect to Google to sign in- "No network connection" solved by choosing another emulator package- Android 2.1 with 3G. Verrrrry slow on my ancient PC (winXP 32bit) but got there in the end and got a Android ID.
2 USB driver install- finally got the correct one using the driver package in the SDK
3 device not detected in "adb devices" command prompt - solved by rebooting with scroll connected

now downloading stuff like there's no tomorrow - there might not be

My suggestion would be to use "Appmonster pro" to back up all the apk files so you have them available in the future. If you use Appmonster, make sure you tick "use old style backup2 in settings or it wont save the apk files properly.

Hi, have read thru but getting confused any help would be great...
gone thru guide (more than once) got the id, scroll is connected via usb debugging, however, when i run: adb shell sqlite3 /data/data/com.google.android.googleapps/databases/gls.db "update meta set intvalue='number_from_previous_commands' where name='androidId'";(in cmd) i get error:device not found

btw i had to do complete factory reset recently and have since lost my market so i may have to do all this again cant be botherd at the mo cos i got other androids and can sideload from them
