Not been able to be on the forum for a few days, so sorry for not responding sooner. Glad you've got the SD card, makes life so much easier. About your questions;

1. Not sure but, it may be that the thumbnail created for the movie is stiil present, and that's whats showing up. If you can locate the thumbnail cache, then delete it.
2. Yes there are temp forlders created by Android on storage cards. To be honest, I've not worried about them. If you delete them, they just reappear.
3. Have found that as you say sometimes restarting a film in a couple of player apps I downloaded and tried would cause a freeze. I put it down to Android not releasing memory fully when the app closed the first time, and as movie playing is one of the heaviest draws on system resources, that causes the freezes. I just use the default movie player having selected the file in File Expert. That seems to work fine as you've found, and as with most of Android's quirks, I don't bother looking any deeper. Its a bit like when I remember using Windows 3.1, find a way of using it to do what you want, and hope that it carried on doing it!
4. Keyboard sounds substandard to me, suggest you send it back as not fit for use, and get a refund if you can or just take a chance that the replacement may be better. I just take my Scroll around in a neoprene case I got from this seller on Ebay;

I gave up carrying the combined case and keyboard from Maplin as I found it too bulky to fit in my coat pocket, and when I want to type anything on it at home, I just connect up a full size USB keyboard with which I have had no problems at all.

Re: Reading Word, excel, Powerpoint or pdf docs I have found Quickoffice to be a good app. I downloaded the free version, then paid for the full version, which allows for creation of docs, as well: http://www.quickoffice.com
I think that they are offering it @ £4.91 at present.
Re:The keyboard issue, I purchased mine from Maplin, and so far, it seems to be robust. The only weakness being the mini-usb for the keyboard, which protrudes from the case.
So far as the movie player is concerned, I've used the default player without any issues so far.
Hope this helps.
Scroll 7", Android 2.1, firmware 1.02, otherwise unmodified.

Apologies for my delay in replying - long story short I've been studying for an As psychology exam which was today and haven't even touched the tablet for weeks. Thanks again Bu55man and BrainE. I now intend to get a few things done with the unit as it's just been gathering dust ! I think you're right about the thumbnail - I will check. The keyboard isn't great to be honest so will look to return that via Amazon (not sure on timescales now tho). The folders I can live with,I guess I'll have too ! :O) Seems the default movie player is the top banana so I stick with that for now -
BrainE - thanks for your advice re the Quickoffice - :O) I'm surprised you used Maplin - aren't they a bit expensive ?

Oh and thanks for the link to the cover :D
