used 'super manger' instead and rename mms.apk ok to mms.old then telephoneyprovider, got in to a FC loop -

rebooted but still in a fc loop, should i do a factory reset in stead?

F****K what a learning curve - I am loving it. :)

reboot 7 times - still in fc loop - just managed to rename telephon.... back to .apk from .old by pressing close every 2 sec the fc notice popped up in between doing what i wanted to do.

should i rename the phone.apk b4 telephoney...., so far now only mms.apk is renamed as mms.old

Just to make sure ( reboot is when you do it from maintenance mode, not just power off and on)

that's what i am now thinking phone, mms, teleph..

I assumed you could just do it with a long press of the power button and selecting turn off. I dont have my Scroll yet so cant test the difference. If you are worried do both one after the other.

I DID IT - :D

I am no longer a root virgin & got rid of 'cell standby' too :D :D

Thanks to all the kind people on here, for helping me! (you know who you are ;) )

INFO -

After my near miss at bricking the scroll - i was back on track. I re-read pwilkos123 threads and renamed these apps in this ORDER. phone.apk (needed reboot - caused FC loop) all ok then mms.apk, then telephoneyprovider.apk.

So for bat life mod - remember to rename apk's in this order P M T - ;) (for fw v0.94 and 1.00 - so far)

N.B. Also found, like others that the market place is better, plus 4 me it works in landscape properly now too.

(DON'T DO THIS - I started with mms (all ok) then telephony... (thats when the sh1t hit the fan))

Scroll successfully rooted, but I don't see any difference with the market. Is it visually different or are there just some apps there now that weren't there before?

I still need confirmation as to weather the act of rooting or removing the telephone related APKS fixes the market. No one seems to have been able to provide a definative answer for me yet :S

I don't think it will fix the issue that firmware v1.01 people have.

I am getting more deeply involved with Google Market support on this now, they want all sorts of info and will (hopefully) monitor me attempting a download soon.

Fingers crossed.
